Visted during the last weekend in June, one of the most picturesque terraces I have been on, if you want too watch the aircraft activities or grab that last view of the jura mountains, in quiet moments watch the bees on the large flower bed (I was fascinated). The sun for most of the day is behind you so no problems for photos, there is no glass screen to affect your view, even the smallest child can look through albeit a chain link grill, so no need for parents to get sore arms lifting them up and down. Entrance is free (at the time of writing) and involves airport type screening, once past and onto the terrace there is a reasonably priced snack bar and free toilets a sheltered roof for protection. I’m glad I went, there is a great view for plane watching and it’s rather shady so was extra nice on a hot day. There are lovely plants and some facts and pictures on display about CERN. A precision about the hours, while the terrace opened at 9h, the snack bar is at 10:30… there are pay coffee and snack vending machines for outside its hours. And well, the offerings are few at the snack-bar, maybe it is a work in progress. For more interesting food, go to the food court before security.
