Lotus Pond Scenic Area — Attraction in Kaohsiung

A beautiful lake with lots of interesting places around it. Many tourists on weekends around the tiger & dragon pagodas, while the rest of the lake will be rather quiet. Take your time not only to visit the pagodas, but also the different temples around the lake. To get here it's an easy 10-15 minutes walk from the Zuoying (HSR/MRT) / Xinzuoying (TRA) station. It's even shorter from TRA station Zuoying (5 minutes walk). Very nice to combine with the nearby Banpingshan mountain which is an easy and quick hike with a great view over the lake and other parts...

Love the tiger and dragon pagoda. It is believed You have to through dragon's mouth and exit out the tiger's mouth to get rid of bad luck and increase good luck. It has seven stories with beautiful circular stairway going up and you get beautiful view from top of the zigzag pathway. The whole inside of the pagodas allows you to follow stories about the buddhist characters. The dragons and paintings inside are very bright and colorful. The lotus pond is very pretty with a few beautiful walk corridor that leads out to the pond and bright pagodas...

The place is a must see Its all that others have said and more, we walked from the MRT a little way and others may prefer to take the bus. We had picnic on the quite side of the lake and watched model sail boats and enjoyed the colourful outlook across the lake. All the attractions are great as others have said, all worth the time to visit, even the wall at the top of the lake. When you done seeing the sights head to the South of the lake where there is a wire waterski system, find a seat and watch others exert themselves whilst you have a well...
