I visited for 4 days. The advantage of this hotel is 1. It is located in the royal palace area, so you can stay in a historical place. There are several kingdoms within walking distance. The historic building is well maintained. 2. This is a small boutique hotel. The garden is beautiful and great for quiet relaxation. 3. Food is good. Breakfast is simple but delicious. Omelette service was good. Try Thai cuisine for lunch or dinner. This is a very high quality Thai cuisine. 4. The staff are friendly. It's impressive to see young staff working hard in an old hotel. Arrived at 2 am, but the glasses-wearing female staff named Nuwe(?) greeted me very kindly. A female employee named Game can communicate in Korean. It seems to be helpful for Koreans. A very friendly hotelier. It was a pleasure to see the friendly staff entering and leaving the hotel. Disadvantages 1. Because it is an old building, the auxiliary facilities are not convenient. The swimming pool is small. There is no elevator. Personally, it was a three-story building, so it wasn't a big problem. 2. The water pressure is low and the water temperature control is a little inconvenient. 3. The room on the outskirts is noisy in the morning when commuting. Personally, I woke up early and traveled so it wasn't a problem. It seems that you can rest quietly if you choose a room that is on the inside rather than the outside. I have been to Bangkok several times, and I have also visited several five-star hotels affiliated with Accor and Hilton. Rawikanlaya Hotel is small and old, but it is a beautiful hotel that preserves the beautiful Thai tradition. Most of all, the friendly staff and delicious food will definitely come back again. It would be better if you know the details of the hotel and visit. I was personally satisfied.

A very Honest Review of the Hotel: First of all “This is in no way a 5 star property” A 4 star boutique property would be a more appropriate description For everyone who might consider this hotel shall divide this review into a bit of a pro and con scenario: Pros ——— 1. A very beautiful boutique property with a beautiful garden, very quaint architecture and a very peaceful environment 2. Quite well maintained across, be it rooms or common areas, you don’t see anything broken or chipped off if not intent of design to keep the old charm of the building 3. Great Housekeeping and quick response to requests; we had one side table missing in the room, we called it in and in 2 minutes they brought us one! 4. Got all the basic amenities sorted, buffet breakfast, a small gym, a small pool, a small lounge area, a small conference area in the garden etc. 5. Whatever items are considered in room amenities such as soaps, towels to television to air conditioning to wifi works quite well and are of good quality Cons: ——— 1. Location of this property is way off from any mode of public transport and is very very far from any attraction; for everything you have to travel atleast 4-5 km 2. There is absolutely no BTS or MRT nearby (All are atleast 4 km away) and you’ll probably end up using Grab or Bolt a lot to get to places (Usually because of the peculiar location of the hotel, wait time of Grab or Bolt will also be a bit high usually above 15 minutes), and somehow this area is always under surge pricing and it costs quite high to go to places from here than you’d usually see from other places (Not to mention the high amount of time to get to places in the city due to heavy traffic and a myriad of signals) 3. Even though the pier is nearby at 400m and you can take a boat to see places like wat pho or grand palace, NO connectivity like the MRT or the BTS for downtown 4. The rooms were very very cramped; no space for even a cupboard or a luggage rack we struggled to keep our suitcases and then to move around in the room. There was also no hot water in the wash basin and the so called heater connected to the shower is a joke!! The rooms felt extremely suffocating also somehow as there was no air circulation in them and most nights we had to pry open the windows and the door for some relief!!! The beds are uncomfortable and since they combine two beds to make one king bed, adds to the discomfort of restless sleepers who might roll on the bed. No amenities like a bathtub for the room and it straightaway a small congested shower cubicle, not expected for this price point PS: Yes we booked the Mattana Deluxe Room (Not the base superior room), naturally you’d expect something better , if you ask me , don’t pay the excess charge for so called additional space of (4msq) 5. For the price we paid we did not find this place worth that figure, perhaps if it was 70% of what we paid it would justify the value of the property 6. The staff approach Our checkin process was terrible! We got back to Bangkok from Chiang Mai and got to the hotel at about 12:45pm or so When we mentioned we were tired and can we go to the room, the first response was , “ Since standard checkin time is 2:00pm please pay for early checkin” Now the problem is not the process, but you do not expect this kind of behaviour from what they announce as a “5 Star property” or for the good amount of money we paid , and honestly we had to create a bit of a ruckus to change her mind and give us the rooms then and there Now getting to the other staff: No one greeted us across our stay (3 Nights) and they all looked grumpy at best. Usually you would see every staff member or in general most people in Thailand greeting you with a smile on their faces! Even at breakfast the staff did not even come to our table to ask us if we wanted anything or for gods sake even to ask our room number! (except the chef who was lovely and trying to be helpful) Overall I would suggest that at this price point you would get much better hotels at much better locations!

We booked Mattana Deluxe room, supposed to come with a view. Description on the website was beautiful, but in reality we only had a window facing other nearby worn buildings surrounded by ac noises. Our room nr was 2103, which was right next to the inhouse restaurant kitchen, only separated by what sounded like a simple drywall. That means from 5am you can hear absolutely everything happening in the kitchen, loud bangs and noises against the wall, people yelling in the kitchen, cooking noises etc.. I had my earplugs with me, but even these didn't help. So be ready to wake up 5am sharp! Oh and this goes on till late evening... We only stayed 2 nights and checked out at 5am, so there was no point of asking for a room change. There should be buffer zones between guestrooms and restaurants, this is not normal. Shower water heater is weak, water is barely warm. Bed was comfy enough, but loud noises all day won't let you enjoy it. Thin walls, so you can also hear other guests talking. Breakfast was fine, decent selection but coffee machine takes about 4 minutes to brew one small coffee, so be ready for a line. Beautiful small garden with a pool in the middle of the city. Khaosan Road 20 min walk, shopping malls 15 min by Bolt or Grab. Hotel workers are really nice, so i hate to complain about the room... No napping in this room!

We reserved a room at this resort in order to avoid staying in a generic hotel for tourists, and we were not let down. We had a great experience during check-in, and the staff made us feel at home. The information was well-explained and we received a thorough briefing on the various facilities. We enjoyed our time at the room because it was comfortable, clean, and had all the conveniences we required. It was very quiet in the room, which was situated in the back of the resort. The hotel features a lovely garden with a lovely pool and big Ficus trees. Additionally, there are some adorable squirrels who live in the resort's garden and are fed by the staff. A wide selection of western-style foods were offered for a lovely breakfast. Additionally, there was a decent selection of food served on both days. The staff is friendly and well-informed. Plenty of comfortable seating is available. If you want to stay in Bangkok, not too far from the city center but still in a cozy and soothing resort that lets you escape the hustle and bustle and just relax occasionally, I would highly recommend paying this hotel a visit.

Property- property is good, there is greenery and pool and gym. Breakfast is buffet with decent spread. Everything offered on the buffet breakfast is fresh and of good quality. Room- Rooms are extremely small and claustrophobic. There is virtually no air circulation. There is no cupboard to keep your belongings and not even a place to keep your suitcases, you have to keep it on the ground. For 16000 for 2 nights it’s very expensive for what they offered. Location- there is no metro station anywhere nearby. Nearest metro is 5 kms away. Cabs are very expensive so compared to other hotel we stayed hopeless area. Hotel staff- very decent, when compared to other properties we stayed this property isn’t comparable in terms of service. Honest opinion- avoid if possible, isn’t worth the money

Definitely NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL! Our rooms didn’t have windows, the walls are very thin, you could hear the people in the next rooms snoring, talking, coughing etc. The door had spaces around it and you could see the lights in the hallway through it. We only had hot water in the shower if we lowered the pressure (it was not possible to have hot water and good pressure at the same time). The towels had stains, didn’t seem very clean. The brekfast-every day the same food, not very tasty. I do not recommend this hotel. If they didn’t pretend to be a 5star hotel i wouldn’t have given them such a low grade. But i had bigger expectations. There are a lot of 2-3 star hotels that are much better. The staff however was very friendly and helpful.
