Absolutely wonderful experience in this hidden gem. Lots of interactive displays and the docents were really helpful in answering a range of questions. All exhibits are bilingually labelled and they go the extra mile to explain why the object is significant (eg, why early Thai banknotes are denoted in 6 languages, how rice production affects the monetary policy in Thailand, arbitraging the trade relations with China and Britain and why the constant struggle between different stabilisation/ pegging mechanisms, why bond was only issued almost four decades after BOT’s establishment, etc). Truly fascinating. The library features an outstanding collection of finance books over two floors. Admission is free. Tight security. They will scan your belongings. After the check, register yourself at the museum counter. The guide will bring you to the tour. The tour starts at the bottom of the room, which is 6 meter below the ground. Starting with coins, notes, and details of the bank. Coins money has many history during those eras and in different sizes, coins from other countries such as Afgan, China, etc. Thailand officially print the notes themselves in year 1969. Back in 1902, it was printed in UK. 1941, due to invasion by Japanese, they had blocked UK from shipping the notes, therefore they had assigned Japan to print the notes.
