This authentic, family run Thai restaurant also serves North American food, but try the Thai food, it’s outstanding! We each had a Som Tum salad and it was excellent, super fresh and flavor is spot on. We also tried the chicken satay with peanut sauce and it was delicious as well. The mango sticky rice is the best we’ve had. Perfectly ripe mango with sticky rice and just the right amount of sweet, delicious coconut milk. The price is very reasonable- under 400 bht pp including 2 alcoholic beverages. Sek, the young man with the best smile, runs the front of house, while is sister, Bebiew, along with Mena and Perom run the kitchen and produce all the wonderful food in a very clean environment. The bathroom is also very clean. Please remember that the entire restaurant is run by maximum 4 people with only Sek serving and bartending so if you have to wait, be patient and kind! Chan Restaurant at Surin Beach is a true gem! The food is beautifully crafted, fresh, and clearly made with care. We tried the Phuket Hokkien noodles (listed as stir-fried egg noodles with soy sauce) and the Thai green curry with chicken—both were absolutely delicious. The produce was fresh, the chicken in the green curry was tender and flavorful, and the seafood in the noodles was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. The egg noodles were perfectly done, and the sauce tied everything together wonderfully.

The owner, Bibew, is very friendly and clearly takes great pride in her food, which adds a warm and personal touch to the dining experience. The atmosphere is chill, with no crowds or loud noises, making it an ideal spot for relaxed dining if you don’t mind the heat.

The only suggestion I’d have is to consider adding some air conditioning in certain areas or planting more trees for natural shade to help guests cool down. That aside, it’s an excellent spot, much better than many places in Patong—truly 100% better!...
