The location for us was perfect. We stayed here for 10 days in an ocean front apartment. We had our own private little beach right on our doorstep. The rooms were very clean and the self contained kitchen was handy at times. Some minor complaints would be that the hot water system isn't big enough as we would run out of hot water most days, which isn't a big deal in Thailand's climate but it would be a nice problem not to have. The shower also takes a long time to drain. As for the estate itself, the grounds and gardens are stunning and well kept and the main pool is fun to swim in. The staff are all lovely and welcoming. Warning - this place does not have a bar or restaurant anymore. If you were planning on sipping cocktails by the pool or wandering up to the restaurant in the morning for breakfast then think again. We were unaware of this until after we arrived. There is a restaurant just outside the estate if you didn't feel kike walking into town, we didn't try it though as it looked like there might be a few mosquitos as it is set amongst the jungle. Location wise, its about a 10 minute walk to get into town to all the restaurants and bars etc or there is a 7/11 about 1 minute walk if you need any of the basics. There is also a taxi rank directly out the front of the estate if you wanted to get a cab instead. Its about a 15 to 20 minute cab drive to Patong if you want to venture into that madness for which they charge 500 baht. Kamala Beach in general is very laid back, you don't get constantly harassed by street vendors although they are there if you need anything and there is a huge variety of restaurants, cafes, bars, tailors, dispensaries, market stalls, masseuse etc. Everything Patong has but without the lunacy or insane amount of people and traffic. Great for families, would definitely stay here again

We stayed here 3 nights. We specifically booked for an ocean view apartment. The apartment G is oceanfront but the view was completely covered by the overgrown trees and vines. I was so looking forward to the amazing view from the reviews, but was so disappointed after traveling half the world. I called the General manager, Mads Danesoe, about the view issue. He asked me how many more nights I stay. I said 2 more nights. He said he will call me back. I waited a whole afternoon and no call. I texted him and still no reply. I texted him again the next day and still no reply. I didn’t have the time and energy to deal and follow up with this unresponsive unprofessional general manager because my husband and son were sick and I have to take care of them. Regardless what is the answer, Mr Danesoe, should reply to the guest instead of completely ignore the guest s concern. He must have thought that after 2 nights, I left, things will be resolved. I do not recommend this resort if they continue to have this kind of unresponsive service. If you book this resort, make sure you call the resort directly and ask for specific location/letter/# of your apartment and pictures of your specific apartment and pictures of the view. Our Apartment G is very dated but clean. I gave an extra star because the front office staffs were great and one of the staffs Aisha helped me get medicine for my husband and son. View from bedroom is blocked by trees. See photo View from living room is blocked by trees. See photo Overgrown vines on coconut trees. And dead banana trees. Lot of dry leaves and branches on the ground by the stairs of this apartment. If you don’t plan to cook, staying here is also not convenient

Perfect and affordable family getaway spot. Just south of Kamala Beach restaurant strip, about a 10 min walk to the main beach, we rented a two bedroom Andaman villa and spent a wonderful 11 days here in low season. The resort itself is a bit older, and a little frayed at the edges if you look hard enough (squeaky doors, low shower pressure, odd utensils, some ordinary towels at times) but the private beach that is literally over your balcony railing makes up for everything. At the prices they charge, it’s an absolute steal. Villas are serviced daily if you need, three pools were lovely and clean, mature gardens neat and lush and beautiful … even some resident squirrels to keep you entertained! We stayed with 14/16yo boys, so fast wifi was brilliant, a short 3 min walk to a 7-11 that was well stocked, and 10 mins to a Big C supermarket with everything you need. The villa’s kitchen is a bit dated but fully functional and was great to have options to eat at home … especially breakfast, which is a bit hit and miss at Kamala’s restaurants. But the real hero is the view. We loved waking up to the sound of the ocean lapping at the beach, and strolling down to the sand to drink our morning coffee. Loved it!

Arrived really excited as by far the most expensive room/ hotel of the trip and expecting something special. Pool area is beautiful and drinks by pool reasonably priced if you can find someone to make them. Room not ready until 2pm which was fine but disappointed to be led to a room with a fully covered balcony so in shade all the time . On first sight all seemed ok but room pretty dirty and the bathroom absolutely stunk of drains and room in need of overhaul .|Space where I assume dishwasher or washing machine should be a dirty gap|In the kitchen and lots of dust and cobwebs as room clearly old and definitely in need of an update. You may be lucky as rooms further down had great sea/ beach view ( which we paid extra for) but with the room we were given being down two flights of steps and lots of foliage hard to see the view . We did ask to change room but only garden view available and it would appear the best sea view rooms are privately owned. Don't be fooled by the pictures online as assume they are either refurbished rooms or from some time ago.|We did also ask for something to deal with awful smell in bathroom and were given a can of air freshener- reception did not seem shocked at complaint so assume known problem|Second day room not serviced as only one person to clean whole resort but we did manage after chasing twice to get clean towels and bins emptied.|Having stayed in cheaper and much cleaner places in Thailand and Phuket I would say it was a disappointment and expected much better. My recommendation would be to look elsewhere until maybe all apartments have...
