Do NOT go to this salon, especially if you are a foreigner.
This is the first bad review I have ever written. I was excited to go here because they had many positive reviews and their Instagram had many photos of colored hair. Their Google rating is inflated because they offer a free blow dry if you rate them 5 stars.
I got a consultation on what hair colors I could get. I usually go for a lighter color but the stylist said it cannot be done without bleach and I understand that not everything can be achieved with bleach and appreciate when a stylist can be honest at what colors are achievable.
So when the stylist recommended purple colors that can be done without bleach, I trusted that the color would be achieved without issue. After the first dyeing process there was no purple tint at all. They did a second round of dyeing but that made my scalp irritated and I had to sit through a longer appointment.
I couldn’t look at myself in the mirror after the dyeing process and closed my eyes, which I hope no one has to experience.
There is some purple tint at the top of my head but not at the bottom so I have uneven coloring (see picture). I voiced my concern to the team after they asked how I thought about the color and the stylist said the bottom should lighten up after two weeks since it was showing the base color but I am not sure if that will solve the problem as I have colored my hair several times in different countries all without bleach and they have never said this before.
I don’t know how the bottom of my hair became darker than the top of my hair because my roots were grown out and my dyed hair before Prestige salon was reddish brown and my natural hair is dark dark brown.
I also got a haircut but I felt that it was rushed maybe because we had to do a second round of dyeing or to make room for an influencer who came in during the second round of dyeing. My bangs are uneven (see the picture).
Less notable, but at the start of the appointment I was interested in getting a hair treatment and when I asked them what they use, they said they didn't know and it was from Korea. Should have been my first red flag.
I would not...
Read moreThe overall experience at this salon was quite strange and uncomfortable. While the staff were polite in their own way, the customer service felt oddly overattentive—but without any actual interaction. Everyone wore masks (understandable), but it felt more like they were hiding behind them than following health protocols. No one made eye contact, and communication was minimal to non-existent.
Only the receptionist spoke some English, and even then, all instructions had to be translated between her and the stylist. Once I was seated, the hairdresser didn’t speak to me at all—not even a simple “hello” or a confirmation of what we were doing. It was as if she was afraid to engage with customers directly, which made the whole session feel awkward and impersonal.
If you’re looking for a place where you can communicate clearly with your stylist and feel comfortable, this might not be the right fit. The atmosphere felt tense and...
Read moreFantastic service from start to finish. The entire team was warm, professional, and super attentive to detail. My stylist (Tik) did an amazing job with the cut and color, and I’m genuinely very happy with the result.
Now, the downside: I was told on the phone that there was a 20% discount for first-time customers to convince me make an appointment. After the cut, the store manager (?) said it only applies to members. Even the stylist next to her looked confused. How exactly is someone both a first-time customer and already a member?
Disappointing and frankly shady. Surprising to see this in Asia. I’d come back for the staff—but not with this kind of shady...
