This is definitely a first for me when I run into a station staff that exemplifies the opposite of Thai culture and people or residents, known for their extreme politeness. . This station staff @BTS National Stadium, fair skin big eyes with straight shoulder length hair, is downright rude to me when I ask too many questions and clarifications. . I need a ticket to the airport. Because I didn't specify the Survanabhumi Airport or the Don Muang Airport, she asks me which airport. . I was trying hard to remember the name, Surnamoothi airport but it didnt sound right to me, so I say Suvar.. Airport, not wanting to butcher the airport name named after the King. . Then she speaks so fast, probably says something about Siam and Phaya Thai. . When she says the fare is 28 Thai baht, again this sounds too cheap a fare to the airport. . 28 baht, I ask. . This is when her body language changes, she starts giving me the stinky eyes look. I don't mind the fact she raises her voice since I can hear her enunciation better. But her look tell me she does not like dealing with tourists who don't understand her explanations. . Train will take me to Phaya Thai, I ask. . This question really agitates her. She says something along the line you take this train to Siam, then change to another train to Phaya Thai…@Phaya Thai, you need to buy another ticket to the airport. . In my mind, I thank you for jolting my memory about train-change required for the Survanabhumi Airport, but there is no need to be rude about it. . Since she is mad at me, I don't see the need to thank her for “fanstatic” customer service.. . I go through the station barrier, turnaround and pointing at the rude staff through the glass window, I speak to another 2 ground staff standing inside the ground control station, assuming they are leaders or supervisory staff.. I advise them that...
Read moreThis is end station of the Silom Line. The Silom Line goes south (eg. icon Siam).
If you want to go to the airport(drop at Phaya Thai station and change the Airport Rail Link) or chatuchak (drop at Mo Chit station) these are on the Sukhumvit Line. To change to the Sukhumvit Line, you just need to take one station to Siam BTS station (interchange) get off and find the platform to change to Sukhumvit Line. If you're going to the airport or chatuchak, look out for the train going in the direction of "Khu Khot" you should see signs indicating this direction.
Good time about this station. Walking distance to MBK and usually the trains are rather empty since it's the last or...
Read moreIs it just me, or is there anyone who doesn't see the Rabbit Card Top up machine at this station? I went to the station with 70 THB and nothing in my rabbit card after visiting MBK. Unfortunately, the minimum refill value is 100 THB or more if you go to the counter to add money to the card. With no options left, I have to buy a single trip ticket. The question is: What is the purpose of the card if things go south like this?. They should put at least one machine. I was very frustrated for a second. :( P.S. Even if there is a machine, and the traveler, having under 100 thb, goes to the ticket box to top up due to not seeing one, the staff should tell him the...
