I don’t know where to start! This was my sisters favourite place in turkey but now we will never return. Me and my sister ordered food first and then we asked the staff to hold our table for us whilst we went to the toilet for 5 minutes and they said to leave everything including my sisters armani sunglasses at the table and that they would look after it for us. We came back after barely 5 minutes and it was like we had never been there in the first place. The table was empty and they had taken everything. When we asked about it they made up five different excuses and made us feel like we were going crazy and they also lied to us and said that they didnt know anything when they literally tidied the table with their own hands. Then we waited 1.30 hours because they said they would give them back but nothing. They also blamed me for leaving them on the table even though they advised us to. This has destroyed my trust for midpoint. There was a girl who cleaned the table and lied and said she didnt see anything but the manager said that she was the one that took them. The manager came and then offered to show the camera footage but he cropped each time so it wouldnt show who actually took the stuff. Does it really take these incompetent people 1 and a half hours to look at camera footage? The manager accused me of taking it myself as well and made me feel insane. None of them cared. They were rude, the behaviour towards a customer was unacceptable and it made me feel unsafe. The food was horrible too. They didnt apologise for anything and they also charged me for the food without finding my cigarettes. Its not the cigarettes that are bothering me, its the disgusting behaviour of the staff that dont take their customer needs seriously. They act nice until you actually order, and then they switch up. They care about the...
Read moreWhen we arrived at Midpoint we were seated and greeted by Tolgan (hope that's how his name is spelt). He soon relocated us to a better table with a view with out us even asking. The meal arrived and I was very disappointed at luke warm chicken which was concerning until I tried the fridge cold broccoli I was horrified. Tolgan touched the broccoli and immediately returned the dish to the kitchen after taking another order from me. This time I wanted a simple Classic burger. By the time it came everyone else was finished and I started eating on my own. The burger was good enough but the fries were awful (very spicy). I couldn't eat them and left some of my burger. Quite disappointed. Without wanting to cause more fuss or complain I did point it out to our server but didn't want it replaced. He brought the manager, Cadgdad, over. He quickly dismissed me but I wasn't trying to make it a complaint. He turned it into one though saying I knew what I ordered and pointed to no where on the menu that stated there was spicy fries? He then said he wouldn't replace my meal as I'd eaten the burger (half eaten). He offered me a cup of tea. I was actually very frustrated by this time and the manager exasperated the situation making me feel worse and intimidated. I wasn't looking for a free meal but at least.the consideration of not paying for something I didn't eat. The situation was embarrassing with several staff members onlookers out of interest which felt like a deliberately attempt at intimidation. Turned out to be an awful evening and ruined any chance that we'd return here again. We paid and left very disappointed. I certainly wouldn't recommend going here to anyone whilst the current management...
Read moreMidpoint is a great restaurant that situated half way up the main shopping street in Istanbul that has mostly locals.
Entrance to the restaurant is from the ground floor on the shopping street and you just take the staircase up to the first floor!
There’s a huge bar area in the inside which is great, nicely decorated, very spacious and comfortable. Although most of the restaurant guests prefer to just take a drink here whilst waiting for a seat in the outside terrace.
The popular outside tables do move quite quickly and during the busy periods they have a member of staff who coordinates the seating on a queue system to ensure you get your table ASAP.
If you’re lucky to get a seat on the outside tables on the terrace you’ll get to experience amazing views out to sea and at sunset you’ll see beautiful views as the sun sets over Istanbul.
I’ve eaten here at lunch and dinner before and today had the luxury of having breakfast here. We ordered the traditional Turkish menemen and a delicious avocado and cheese omelette and they were both excellent.
