Thank you Rosewater for ruining my birthday dinner! I purchased a Groupon and they did not honour it. There was a mixup with the acceptance of terms of the Groupon. The fine print said the voucher was valid for breakfast, lunch or dinner and the person booking my table failed to mention that they will not accept the voucher for dinner. I should have been more thorough with the booking process and will keep this in mind.
However, the manager’s behaviour was unacceptable. He was unprofessional and he interrogated me in front of my family and everyone else around as to how I ended up there with a wrong voucher. We were seated at a table we had booked a few days ago. The manager could have shown us some kindness and could have even made an exception for us but he chose not to and dragged this out even though I mentioned that it was my birthday.
I finally decided to leave. He relented at the end after all the drama but by then it left me with nothing but bitterness. So we left the place without a drop of water touching our lips. Where is the generosity and kindness this place was once known for?
I will never come here again. Thank you for sending my 3 year old son, my wife and me back home hungry...
Read moreGREAT RESTAURANT WITH AN EVEN GREATER STAFF. As a Conrad hotel guest, breakfast takes place at ROSEWATER restaurant. The breakfast is very nice as they have ample food variety: continental (bacon, eggs, bread), Asian (soup), sweet stuff (pancakes, crepes, waffles etc.) etc. It is superb — but they have the same stuff each and every day (we would have preferred some variety here after having dined here for 9 days). Between 9-10 AM it can get crowded and you may wait to be seated (however, the great staff always finds a way to accommodate). We had half-board so we enjoyed dinner mostly at ROSEWATER restaurant as well as there is a buffet. However, as a part of the half board offer, you can choose the other restaurants as well (it is a fixed served dinner then). ROSEWATER is superb — but also for dinner, they have the same stuff each and every day (we would have preferred some variety here after having dined here for 9 days). Service is mostly outstanding (need to mention the front desk staff which does one great job of balancing everything while at the same time being super-friendly), but a little slow at Rosewater in the evenings. Make sure to order drinks early — once it fills up you might not...
Read moreThis the main restaurant that serves up breakfast while staying at the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers. Impressive selection of food from all over the world: Far East dumplings and fish soups, middle eastern foul, balaleet and shakshouka, plus the usual western breakfast items like beans, potatoes, grilled tomatoes, veal bacon, veal and chicken sausages, eggs Benedict (salmon or veal bacon), etc. As I was there for a few days I was able to sample quite a variety of goodies and most were great. I did, however, not go for their middle eastern selection-foul was fine, but the balaleet were dry and the eggs and tomatoes were too runny. They have 3 live cooking stations-eggs made anyway you want, a waffle/pancake/French toast station (big hit with the kids) complete with a variety of toppings, and a dosa station. I do fancy a good dosa, but unfortunately not for breakfast, so can’t comment if it was any good. They have a gluten-free station for breads and pastries. Service was very good. Overall I would highly recommend it this for a power start...
