Lexx — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

Nice atmosphere but I had an unpleasant experience. The place is quite expensive but they told me I had a discount (because of the company I work for). As the discount was 50% my friend and I decided to take some extras, which we wouldn’t have taken if we had to pay the full fare. Problem is, at check out they couldn’t process the discount and we had to pay full fare. The waiter apologized and tried to fix it by giving us one more glass of wine or tequila/vodka shot for free. I couldn’t drink more alcohol so I just asked for water, but he added that the final bill and I had to pay for it as well. Now, mistakes can happen but waiters (in such places at least, it’s a 5 star hotel!) should know what discounts are offered and if they can be applied on the whole menu or not. What made me most upset is the fact that I had to pay the water when I thought it was complimentary as a way of fixing his mistake. Unbelievable! My friends and I went to Lexx at the Grand Hyatt for Ladies’ Night (Wednesday’s, 8pm-3am, 4 free drinks + free snacks). 🍸

“Ladies’ night, so let’s go to Lexx” - just kidding. I’m sure that’s not their Tagline, I just made it up.

We had fun: it was a great place to get some freebies while catching up with each other. Music wasn’t loud, it wasn’t busy (it’s relatively new still), plenty of places to sit, amazing views of the Emirates Palace (wow type views 😮) + wonderful staff coming around to provide bits of food and taking drink orders. If you’re up for a more lively, party scene this might not be your cup of tea. I’d come back to Lexx, ladies’ night or not, if I had guests I wanted to impress with views of the Palace and somewhere to grab a drink.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lexx at the Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The wine selection is superb, offering a wide variety of both local and international wines that are perfect for every palate.

We attended one of their special events, and the food was nothing short of excellent. Each dish was meticulously prepared, rich in flavor, and beautifully presented. It truly showcased chef Andrea's passion for fine dining.

A special mention must go to Sviatoslav, our waiter for the evening. He was incredibly attentive, professional, and courteous throughout our meal. His impeccable service added to the overall wonderful experience and ensured we had a memorable evening.
