I recently had the most incredible desert safari experience in Al Ain, and it was an adventure that exceeded all my expectations. What made this experience truly outstanding was our guide, TJ.

Worst experience ever!! Booked an overnight in a dune camp a month in advance. Everything was nicely stated on email what was included. When arriving at the dune camp, the problems started. Booked a luxury dome for two adults and our grandson. Grandson had to sleep on a mattress on the floor in front of the door because there was no space for a bed. They didn't know anything about the 4x4 tour through the dunes. Soft drinks included, until we ordered cola zero, paid. Also asked about the shisha that was included, paid. Sand boarding was included, but also for the 100 day tourists and there were only 4 boards. And then the evening had yet to start. When the evening buffet was opened in Russian, 100 Russians stormed to the buffet. Very strange to be addressed in Russian in Dubai. Explanation of Extreme Tourism "misunderstanding in communication". As compensation we received a free shisha, which was normally included. Local staff was friendly but can only do what Extreme Tourism had reserved for. Almost nothing. This is misleading and defrauding tourists. What was supposed to be something special with our grandson became a farce and all thanks to extreme tourism.

I received following answer from extreme tourism. Refund never received and no longer reply on my emails.

We attended this company's Desert Safari and it was the most unsatisfactory and dangerous experience.

On the day we were told the tour will be delayed for about one hour to 4:15pm instead of 3:15pm.

The car: We were given the back seats of the 7 seater SUV which had limited leg room, limited space for bags, increased shaking and limited view of the road. The seat had someone else's dirty tissue and sand on floor. The handrail handles on the car was broken.

The driver made a dinner stop to a restaurant of his choice without telling us (we were told it's a restroom-stop). We sat at the fast-food restaurant without eating and waited for him to finish dinner for 20 minutes.

The sand-dune ride: We were unable to see much of the road or hear clearly anything driver said because it was so far back. The driver also played loud RAVE TECHNO music the whole way without asking what the customer wanted. He made multiple phone calls without a hand-free device (illegally holding this phone) while driving. The driver would also drive with only one hand so he can dance to the rave music with the other hand during the sand-dune ride. Also due to the position of the car my seat belt was stuck multiple times during the sand-dune ride and we had to stop to fix it.

At the camp there's no instruction or introduction to what you can do.

On the way home at 10:20pm the driver sped and drove into other people's lanes on the highway to make up for late drop off.
