Sharjah King Faisal Mosque in the UAE Wrote about the mosque M Omar Farooq Azad: King Faisal Mosque; Sarva __________________________________ The Badshah Faisal Mosque is a great and beautiful mosque in the UAE Sarjah Emirates. The construction of the mosque began in the 5th, and the construction work was completed on January 26, and was opened to the public. The name of King Faisal of Saudi Arabia was named after the Sharjah Emirates and the largest mosque in the country. At present, the Sharjah Mosque in Ta'i area is the largest mosque in the Emirates and the Sheikh Zaid Mosque is the largest mosque in the country. The mosque is located on the King Faisal Road and Al Arbaba Road, the center of Shahjaah. The headquarters of Sharjar Dubai Islamic Bank, Al -Ittehad (Union) Gardens, Central Bus Station and Al Jubail Sowk are located. The mosque has two minarets with a height of 5 meters (20 feet). Its size is 1,3-12,3 square meters (5,3 - 5 square feet). Its capacity is 5,3, out of which 12,3 can offer prayers together. The mosque has men and women praying prayers. The mosque has a general library on the three floors of the mosque, including Sharjah's Islamic Affairs and Aokaf Department office. The library contains about 5,7 books on culture, literary and scientific topics in addition to Islamic thoughts and history, Islamic Sharia. On the first floor and the floor, there are men praying for men and women praying in the underground part of the building. There is a huge place under the supervision of the Sharjah charity near the women's prayer hall where people can donate clothes for the poor. The building has the office of the Sharjah charity.

This mosque is highly popular in the area and serves as the main departure point for people traveling for Umrah and Hajj from this location. It is the designated bus pickup point for this Al Sour region. Notably, this is one of the largest mosques in the vicinity, offering ample space for worshippers, including a designated prayer area for women. The mosque also provides convenient car parking facilities, making it a preferred location for many residents to perform their Jummah prayers. My office is nearby, and I, too, regularly attend Jummah Salah at this mosque. For those preparing for prayer, the mosque has a well-maintained ablution area. To access it, enter the mosque and proceed to the backside where you'll find the pathway leading to the ablution area towards downside. The facilities are clean and thoughtfully designed to accommodate the needs of worshippers. One of the highlights of this mosque is the beautiful recitation of the Qur’an during prayers. The interior of the mosque is also well-kept, with a pleasant fragrance that enhances the serene atmosphere

One of the oldest mosques in Sharjah and probably the most iconic. Located right where Gulf's first airport was located since 1931. Name was given in honour of the Saudi King, the King Fasial Mosque prayer halls can accommodate almost 17,000 people. The building's ground and first floors are devoted to the men's mosque. The second floor is occupied by the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs and Awqaf, including offices and a general library. The library contains about 7,000 books on Islamic history and thought, and the modern books of Hadith and Sharia, plus scientific, literary and cultural works. The basement is given to the women's mosque and has its own library. The Sharjah International Charitable Organisation also has its offices there. Outside the mosque is the Ramadan iftar tent, which provides iftar nightly to more than 100 workers and is sponsored by Sharjah Islamic Bank. The Grand Mosque is also place of hope for thousands of faithfull to acquire one of the largest distribution of charitable clothes and amenities for the poor and needy.

King Faisal Mosque is one of the oldest and largest mosques in the UAE, offering ample space for worshippers and plenty of parking. The mosque also has a separate prayer area for women, which is a great convenience. However, despite its historical significance and capacity, the mosque's maintenance has declined in recent years. The ablution area has very little water flow, making it difficult for worshippers to perform wudu. The toilet taps are also in need of repair, and the air conditioning inside the mosque isn’t cooling effectively, with water dripping from the units at times. Additionally, there is a persistent smell in the carpets, which seems to be caused by dampness. I’ve been visiting King Faisal Mosque since childhood, and it’s disheartening to see these issues affecting the worship experience. I hope the mosque’s management addresses these concerns soon to restore it to its former well-maintained state.
