Our recent visit to Baskin Robbins turned out to be quite unpleasant, a disappointment that's hard to overlook. A scenario unfolded that I believe could have been handled with much more tact and respect.
My wife needed to dispose of a medically necessary item—a sealed, non-odorous container of urine—into the general trash bin. This was a discreet move needing no attention. However, the male staff on duty last June 6 midnight approached us and requested that we remove the sealed container from the trash. This request was unreasonable and uncomfortable as the item in question presented no risk or inconvenience by being in the bin.
Rather than insisting that we retrieve something from the garbage, it would have been more appropriate for the staff to address this issue after our departure. This ordeal left us feeling embarrassed and upset. Good customer service should aim to make every customer feel welcome and respected, regardless of the circumstances. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by what felt like an unduly harsh stance over something that should have been a non-issue.
