Maria Bonita Taco Shop & Grill — Restaurant in Dubai

As we entered we saw the bird cage, cute cos I like parrots... we approached one of the staff to get a table. We ordered : Fish Tacos / chicken Enchiladas / Papas Bravas & a Pitcher of Lemon & Mint Mojito. We got out good in not less than 2mins, we were super hungry and wanting to eat Mexican last night so we just digged right in.

Food :

Papas Bravas : soooo yummmyyy! The server said “them potatoes r angry” (it was a spicy one)🙂 it was cooked to perfection & the fish was delicious. I loved it.

Fish tacos : Disappointment. The fish was frozen. The food wasn’t fresh. Just some cabbage was thrown over the fish tacos. No sour cream. I was exited but was totally bummed after tasting the food. It just wasn’t upto their standard.

Enchiladas : was an absolute disaster. The food was cold and mushy. Looked like a plate of baby vomit. No presentation. The sauce was just too salty. And the chicken was stale.

The lemon mint was fine. I wouldn’t recommend it though.

We’ve been here before and there food has not disappointed us hence we came again.

We asked for the manager cos the enchiladas could not be eaten. The lady manager did not even come and talk to us. And the waiters kept saying everything is freshly made. There was no point to argue so I told them that we weren’t going to eat our food just to get us the bill. They didn’t charge us for the Enchiladas but the rest they did so I asked them to pack it for Us because I have a stray cat near my building.

Overall poor service!!! I would never visit again. The least was an apology for the state of the food.

I, like many others have faced a horrible experience recently with their resturant.

As a regular customer to this resturant for over 15 years when you first opened, I have always been extremely loyal. About a month ago, I ordered food to my home address, the same address I have been ordering to from them for these 15 years. Now, my first instruction to any resturant I order from is to please NOT ring the doorbell if it is after 9pm.

As usual, this was my instruction to them. I live with my family and it is extremely inappropriate for the doorbell to ring at such a late hour.

The driver arrived to my house, rang the doorbell and as a young girl who just wanted to order food without waking my whole family up, I was extremely frustrated and told him off. His reaction was to put his hand in my face and walk away.

Now, my question is- what if he raised his hand on me? What if I was alone in the house?

My response was to obviously call the resturant and speak to the general manager (Benjamin).. however, his reaction was shocking, he said “it’s fine, don’t order from here again”, and blacklisted my house. This was their personal resturant driver. Maria Bonita generally now has a reputation for bad customer service, however, this blew my mind!

If the resturant cannot protect their customers and ensure their Saftey as a combined effort to keep Dubai as safe as I’ve always known it to be, then how long until a woman is harmed by one of these...
