Why am I getting spammed by your events company? What is DBSK and why am I getting daily emails from you? How did you get my business email address? Why does the unsubscribe function not work, since I have now unsubscribed multiple times and still i receive your spam. Do you not know about the protection of private information laws here? Let me refresh you: In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), unsolicited electronic communications, including email advertising, are regulated to protect individuals’ privacy and prevent spam. The primary framework governing this area is the Regulatory Policy on Unsolicited Electronic Communications issued by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA). Key Provisions: 1. Consent Requirement: Organizations must obtain explicit consent from recipients before sending marketing emails. This consent should be clear, informed, and verifiable. The process of obtaining consent must be transparent, and records of such consent should be maintained for accountability. 2. Opt-Out Mechanism: Every marketing email must provide a straightforward and free method for recipients to unsubscribe or opt out from future communications. Organizations are obligated to honor these requests promptly to ensure compliance. 3. Content Requirements: Marketing emails should clearly identify the sender and must not contain misleading subject lines or content. They should also include the sender’s valid physical postal address and contact information. 4. Time Restrictions: Sending marketing emails during certain hours may be restricted to prevent disturbance to recipients. It’s advisable to consult the specific guidelines or seek legal advice to ensure compliance with time-based regulations. Penalties for Non-Compliance: Violations of these regulations can result in significant penalties. Organizations may face fines, suspension of services, or other enforcement actions. For instance, first-time offenders making unsolicited marketing calls may incur a fine of AED 5,000 and suspension of their activities. Repeat offenses can lead to more severe consequences. Additional Considerations: The UAE’s Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) also emphasizes the importance of obtaining consent for processing personal data, including for marketing purposes. Organizations must align their marketing practices with data protection principles to avoid penalties, message blocking, and reputational damage. In summary, to comply with UAE regulations on unsolicited email advertising, organizations should: • Obtain explicit consent from recipients before sending marketing emails. • Provide clear opt-out mechanisms in every communication. • Ensure transparency in sender identification and avoid misleading content. • Adhere to any time-based restrictions on sending marketing communications. By following these guidelines, organizations can conduct their email marketing activities within the legal framework of the UAE.

Attended the Dubai Autodrome on Saturday 12/10/19 for a specially booked McLaren Sprint experience. Although the location was a little hard to find (the provided map truly helps to ensure my Uber drive was able to locate the track entrance) i made it on time to check in. The check-in was smooth and trouble free (the lady sighted my drivers license without copying or checking anything further) which was great. The USB drive was provided to me which is to be used for the car video recording. Completed the short training session advising the correct cornering technique and then rather than being shuttled across to the driving area we walked across (this isn't much of an issue, more of an annoyance) in 35 degree heat. All concerns dissipated once I saw the car which was the McLaren 12C GT Sprint (track only edition). I was instructed to place the helmet on and then sit inside the car to wait for my instructor to return. This process was fine as it gave me time to familiarise myself with the left hand drive McLaren. This is when I realised that the AC in the car was not functioning as 2 different technicians attempted to resolve the issue the car then threw up multiple errors (one of which was an Air Brake Fault) on the dash. Eventually the AC did start working but from the moment i rolled out of the pit area it stopped again, the instructor then attempted to guide me how to fix this issue but gave up and advised that we would just have to complete the experience without it. In 35 degree heat.. I reluctantly accepted and immediately regretted this decision as i fast turned into a hot mess and wasn't able to comfortable enjoy the experience. The instructor was great so i cannot fault him for his instructions, i persevered and tried to enjoy as much of the 11 laps (i had specially purchased 5 extra laps at quite a high price) that i could but i feel that this truly destroyed the enjoyment of the experience. This was not by any means a cheap (AED 3,970) either so my expectations may seem a little high but i feel they are completely warranted. This was meant to be a once in a lifetime experience and it certainly was... for all the wrong reasons.

I signed up for the BMW M4 Experience at Dubai Autodrome hoping that I would have a high-end, performance-oriented driving experience. Instead, most of my session was restricted, dull, underwhelming, and not the exciting track experience as advertised. The M4 was set to Sport mode (engine & chassis), with the lowest transmission setting, which ruined the whole experience. These modes completely blunted the throttle response, shift speed, dynamics, and overall excitement. As a BMW owner and enthusiast, I was left extremely dissatisfied after this experience.

My instructor explicitly said Sport Plus was not allowed, which implies that the whole program is designed to intentionally hold the car back. There is no reason whatsoever that a performance driving experience should be conducted on comfort-oriented settings that deprive the car of its character.

Only after I expressed my disappointment to management did they give me a single lap under the performance settings that I wanted (Sport+ engine & chassis, fastest transmission). It was like driving a completely different car, sharper, more responsive, and worthy of the M badge. That single lap was what I had been lacking the entire experience and also a reminder that I spent most of my paid track time in a neutered version of the car.

Although I appreciate the free lap as a goodwill measure, this does not erase the fact that most of my experience, as well as my money, was wasted. A BMW M driving experience should bring out the abilities of the car to its fullest, not conceal it by the overly cautious settings that undermine the purpose of being on a track.

If this is the standard operating procedure for BMW M driving events, it will only disappoint enthusiasts and potential customers, and it does not reflect the true capabilities of the car...
