TGI Fridays - Aberdeen Union Square — Restaurant in Aberdeen City

Service was amazing as always, very friendly servers and a nice clean premises. The food however has just taken an absolute nose dive.

I asked for the hot chicken wings for starters and they were pink in the middle and ice cold, obviously hadn't had enough time in the kitchen, the waiter informed me that they come to the restaurant pre-cooked. I mean come on, surely you can buy in fresh chicken. I had it swapped out for a new plate within minutes and it was good but pails in comparison to fresh chicken.

My main was a surf and turf and the steak came medium well instead of rare. Again I had it swapped out within minutes and the actual steak was pretty nice. They have changed the portion and amount of sides which In my opinion is ridiculous for the amount it cost. The old surf and turf was insanely good.

My partner is gluten and dairy free and was given an extra dip which had gluten in it, despite ordering from the extremely limited allergen menu.

The cocktails were incredible, and they were nice enough to take an amount off the bill which was a good gesture.

Please, please get your kitchen in order, the front of house staff can only work with what they have got and if the food is wrong then everything else...

Remarkably expensive for what it is, this chain is a survivor. Others have come and gone, Fridays endures. I remember when this place used to be iconic. Now? Well it’s just another chain.

Not my favourite place to eat. Not even my favourite place to eat in Union Square. Ate here tonight though because it’s one of the few places in here that will serve after nine. You have to give it that.

Aberdeen is clearly a city that likes to go to bed early…

Service inside was good. Food served quickly. Mozzarella dippers, can’t go wrong. Main was the chicken strippers either bbq glaze. A bit too much food, but decent. Solid food, done quickly and without imagination. It’s what you expect and what you get. Saw a fat burgers being served. Massive - too big for me.

The beer was Moretti. A safe, middle of the road lager. Of course.

Total price for two just north of £90.

Convenient for the cinema, The shops and, well… when you need food and everything else shuts...

Ordered food to collect at 11am like we were allowed as it was the earliest time. Got there to be told the kitchen doesn't open until 11 and to go away and come back later or wait. We waited for THIRTY MINUTES and not once got offered to grab a seat instead wait outside the restaurant even though people were getting int o sit and eat. Finally got the food and went home to be missing two portions of fries and for the buns of one hotdog and burger to be rock solid.

On top of that i was there with my son who is Autistic and doesn't do waiting well, we order to collect because its easier on him over waiting for food to cook so it was essentially one of the worst experiences in service and food I have had and i am 45 years old.

So shocked at the whole thing to be honest and the price is so far away from the quality of food and service its ridiculous.
