Nestled above the charming coastal town of Aberystwyth, Constitution Hill offers one of the most breathtaking views in Wales. As you ascend the hill, either by foot or aboard the historic Cliff Railway, the landscape unfolds before your eyes, revealing panoramic vistas that are simply awe-inspiring. The journey on the old train is a nostalgic delight, as it gently carries you up the steep incline, offering glimpses of the town below and the vast expanse of Cardigan Bay. Once at the summit, you're rewarded with a sweeping view that stretches as far as the eye can see, from the rolling hills inland to the shimmering waters of the Irish Sea. On clear days, you can even catch sight of Snowdonia to the north and Pembrokeshire to the south. The experience is serene and uplifting, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll, a picnic, or simply to sit and soak in the natural beauty. Constitution Hill is more than just a vantage point; it’s a place where the peace of nature meets the nostalgia of history. The old train is not just a mode of transportation but an experience in itself, a reminder of the charm and character of Aberystwyth. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, a trip up the hill is a must-do, offering a refreshing escape with an unforgettable view.

Beautiful vieuwpoint over Aberystwth. Don't take the train but just walk up and enjoy the views along the path. It'ts just a 15 minute walk and not too strenuous. When you're at the top don't forget to enjoy the view on the oposite site of the hill. For picture's the view is best late in the evening. During the daytime you will be photographing directly into the sun.

From the top you have scenic views all around Aberystwyth. There is access by cliff top train, but only runs during certain times. Otherwise there are footpaths that allow access. On the top there are amusements, toilets and a restaurant, but again they are time dictated.

For everyone who needs something to do when visiting Aberystwyth. I highly recommend catching the railway train up to Constitution Hill..The funicular train runs every 10min 15 mins when the train has enough passengers. It goes. Return as one train pulls up as the other comes down.

When you arrive at the top, there are panorama views of Aberystwyth and Ceredigion coast line. There is a cafe that serves tea, coffee, and cakes. It comes very busy in the summer months.July,August. Also, there is a main menu for lunch.

There are paths that can take you for a nice walk to Clarach . This is the coastal path. Suitable for push chairs. Be warned downhill to clarach, but it is steep to push a pram back up. Mobile scooters are the same principle. At the top of Constitution Hill, there is a camera dish to enter . Where you can veiw in the dark most of the bay. In the summer there is a bowling ali.( Small). The staff in the cafe are really lovely and kind Kelly, the manageress, is very obliging and will help in many ways. Cars are not allowed up there. The train runs at the every day in summer season

.. Lift has been installed for disabled travellers.. but have to get on the left side tram to access the lift after getting off the tram. Please ask at the ticket office when buying your ticket.

Disabled will be able to catch the train and the top, a lift to take the disabled to the top .but has to push a wheelchair for about two minutes to the cafe. It has a tarmacadam at the top. There is a bowling alley and a pool table in another building very near to the cafe. Also, the camera is obscure, but some days it is closed. Please ask to avoid disappointment. You plan a journey. I am local and wish to be helpful to holidaymakers for 2024 Wonderful for the disabled. Why should they miss out.? There is a crazy golf being built up on Constitution Hill. The manageress is marvellous and works very hard to make sure every event runs smoothly The best person one could have for the job. Along with her staff who work hard at...
