The hotel is in a good location right on the beach, the main town center is a 10 minute walk and the staff were friendly. There is no free parking so be aware you will have to use the off-road parking behind the hotel which is £7 per day. The only gripe I have is the room itself, I was there on business so the company paid the cost so it didn't bother me too much, however if I had paid for this myself as a holiday I would not be too impressed, the room was a little small which is to be expected, there was dust on the bed frames and lights and the windows were covered in cobwebs. There is also the issue off the windows not opening all the way and one off them missing the Handle to actually open it. There is also metal bars on the windows where it actually does open which I assume is a safety concern for toddlers but it does block the view. The windows themselves were also very dirty and difficult to look out off, the bathroom was ok all be it a little cramped and the shower again was small and a little awkward but again not a big issue. I think this place just needs a little more attention to detail when cleaning the rooms and possibly look at replacing the old windows, it would make such a big difference in my opinion. Other then that it was fine, in a good location.

I recently stayed at the Cardigan Bay Guest House in Aberystwyth and had a rather mixed experience. On the positive side, the room was clean and tidy, which made for a pleasant initial impression. The bed was comfortable, and the amenities provided were satisfactory. However, there were some significant drawbacks. The window was extremely dirty, covered in a lot of seagull poop, which detracted from the overall cleanliness of the room. It was quite disappointing to see such neglect in maintaining the window. The shower was another major issue. It was very small and not suitable for a bigger person. To make matters worse, it had a bit of mould, which made using it quite uncomfortable and unpleasant. Toilet was situated on a raised floor which made it totaly uncomfortable to sit on, riddiculous idea. Overall, while the Cardigan Bay Guest House had some positive aspects like the clean and tidy room, the dirty window and mouldy, cramped shower were significant downsides. Improvements in these areas could greatly enhance the guest experience.

Very clean and tidy, room was excellent, view was brilliant. Disappointed with the parking facilities or lack of.. hotel was listed as has secured parking, email confirmation said no parking. Rang to check and was told they had an rang with the next hotel and for a fee we could use their carpark, went to said hotel to pay and was told no such arrangements existed so basically they are falsely advertising parking which they don't have, there is limited parking outside on the street but this is shared by multiple hotels and as such you could end up parked upto a mile away. For ourselves on a motorcycle being able to park in a secure carpark is essential. It is one thing to falsely advertise parking but to also lie to us on the phone about their parking facilities is totally unacceptable.

visited in June 2025. This was the worst hotel/guest house I have every stayed in!||There were issues with the room:|-Bath room had mould - disgusting.|-The carpet was very worn and had holes in it|-The door had a 1 inch gap underneath one end of it where the floor slopes away.|-Cracked ceiling tiles|-Plaster and wallpaper has come off the walls and they haven't been repaired.|-There was a slat missing in my bed when I lifted the mattress to find out why I kept sinking through it.|-There are marks and stains on the wall which could easily be cleaned off though the hotel management don't seem to be bothered.|-The windows are plastered with bird dung - no effort to clean them either.||I informed and showed a member of staff the photos at reception and the response was that they were aware of these issues and were working to improve them. I was offered a free night here for raising these concerns but I turned it down because I wouldn't spend another night there even if they paid me! Also, I refused to eat there because they show such little concern for cleanliness and general upkeep that these attitudes probably spill over into the kitchen - I mean you can see the shoddy state of the rooms but you can't see the state of the kitchen and I don't want to take the risk of eating from there. I feel ripped off because these rooms cost around £60 a night and its clear they aren't cleaned regularly. I'm annoyed because if I had known these things before going then I wouldn't have wasted my money. My friend who travelled with us on the trip opted to stay at a different hotel down the road (which was about half the price) and was much cleaner, well kept and the difference was...

I am disabled and use crutches, so on arrival receptionist did carry my bags to my room on 1st floor for me. It wasn't the room I booked but was still sea view and en suite room so I didn't say anything. But the shower is where I problems start, there is a large step in and out of the shower but no bath mat, so next morning I asked the same receptionist if I could please have a bath mat, but got told I could have 2 hand towels, I mentioned health and safety and got a funny look.|I went out and bought one for my own safety , the floor is tiled and slippy when I put them on the floor to test it out. Also on the night of my arrival there was an open window that I failed to close so I mentioned it to her as well but she never did anything to help me, so said window was open through dreadful weather another night, next day different receptionist and she offered to get someone to have a look at it but we got distracted and it was forgotten about by both of us as I went out and she carried out her job, later that I discovered that there is a bolt 🔩 keeping the window open which I tried to open so that I could close the window but failed to move it. When I messaged the owner with the issues I had he wasn't apologetic and quite rude in his reply. I also informed him that the state of the room wasn't very well cleaned and I sent him a few photos of the dust etc, including a antique chair in the cafe part down stairs it had a really thick layer of dust on the back of it, his reply was that was how antique furniture looked, I was concerned so I showed the 2nd receptionist and she cleaned it up. On the better side the bed was comfortable and...

Do not expect to get anything like the photos shown online. From arriving to departing we never saw a cleaner in the building, and we were there 2 nights. We were a big party and had various types of rooms so I’m basing this on all rooms. Filthy is a very fitting word! There was mould in 3 of the bathrooms in our party, no plugs in sinks, 4 toilets don’t flush very well, carpets are old, ripped, thread bare patches, filthy and stink. The walls have stains all over them. They say online you can have breakfast, well I was told on booking I’d need to book the night before and was quoted £9 per person, only to then be told on check in they have not done breakfast for about 8 months now? They clearly have permanent residents staying here, it’s so noisy with no consideration for anyone at all. There were children in our group and to my horror the place stunk of weed!!!! I get the impression that anyone at all can stay here just as-long as they pay up. There is just no form of organised staffing or care for guests. The communal areas are no better at all. I tripped up twice in the hallways due to ripped carpet, so be aware. I have no idea how many years it is since the buildings saw a coat of paint, but be assured, it’s years!!! I have never been so disgusted in all my life and to think I paid roughly £600 for our rooms I just wanted to cry. If it wasn’t half term and I needed a lot of rooms I would have left. I do have photos to back up what I’m saying . Please be warned DO NOT WASTE...
