This center was excellent before taken over by Better UK. My kids do swimming lessons there and it was great. But now, they take 5 mins out of every lesson to "check" the children in meaning that they lose 5 minutes swimming time. When I asked about when my free lesson would be (the 7th one) I received no response. They now make the kids wear swimming hats for no other reason than they can't remember which kids are in which grade. And to top it all off they just increased their prices despite the service going down hill. I do not recommend. What I do recommend is looking at other providers in the area for swimming lessons. There are some excellent ones and I am planning to switch soon.
Revision to my review: the organisation of the swim school has got better. They no longer take 5+ minutes to get the children into the pool. However they are still insisting on this ridiculous thing about the children all wearing swimming hats. I've been told it's for cleanliness of the pool. I will believe this if you can confirm that when people come for family swim they are also forced to wear swimming hats for cleanliness of the pool. I counter this with my arguement that the only reason they make the children wear swimming hats is so that they can see what...
Read moreNot much what I can say about the gym as I couldn't get in. There is no chance for trial unless You buy the one day pass for £10 what is nonsense regarding the monthly fee what seems reasonable. However it didn't put me off,I wanted to sign up for a year membership. How naive I was. For that You have to see someone from the membership coordinating or whatsoever BUT You cannot get hold to any of them also cannot book an appointment with them, the recepcionists are also unable to contact them. In my case I was lucky because one this mysterious characthers just wizz in the door and the lady on the reception could shout after her to ask about any availability, she shouted back she is busy and ran off. Then the cream on the top of it: the receptionist said just feel free to "hanging around somewhere" until may someone can see me. :D I couldn't really handle it so just laughed out because didn't want to be rude to her, seemed lost anyway and just said while I hanging I think I sign up to the other gym just around the corner. What a good welcome, must be succesful in recruiting...
Read moreHave been a number of times and thought it was great however today's swimming session, the changing rooms were a state. Nowhere dry, the benches looked as if they had been hosed down meaning there was no where dry to put your things. Every changing unit was the same.
I get it's a swimming pool and there will be water but thus was ridiculous.
Asked a member of staff if there was a way to dry them and his response was a shoulder shrug and "no. You'll have to use your own towel to dry it".
I want to make abundantly clear that I understand a swimming pool changing room will be wet but you would think that there would be a cleaning protocol and as part of that the benches would be dry so that you could put your dry clothes down. I didn't realise I needed to provide the cleaning equipment.
All that needed to happen was to be offered some blue roll so we could wipe it. The seats looked as if they had been hosed down. Every bench just puddled in water.
Think I'll stick with Tadley...
