Suzi Quatro Concert was FANTASTIC - Can't say the same thing about the Venue ! MANAGEMENT PLEASE TAKE NOTE- Very Very DISAPPOINTED that 'The Waterfront' ( a place I've been to many times) has changed it's stance on drinking inside 'The Auditorium'. What is normally a very pleasant, well kept place has been turned into a large rowdy drinking room full of noisy and disorderly people who personnally I thought appeared to be very RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL to the Artist - While Suzi was speaking about her long career and life ( with the full houselights on) the noise was unbelievable! I was disgusted that we were treating Suzi with so much rudeness. The seated area's of The Auditorium are carpeted and the amount of Drink that I seen spilled was atrocious. Previously my Star Rating for The Waterfront would have been a 5Star but this time I've reduced it to 1Star. Again - MANAGEMENT PLEASE RECONSIDER - People could previously always drink at 'The Waterfront' but it was before the Concert and at the Interval. PLEASE REINSTATE THIS INSTEAD OF TURNING THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE FROM RESPECTABLE...

Had ticket bought for us to go see Roy Orbison on 27/4/18.was given wrong time for show to start, after me rushing a 100 mile journey to be there for doors opening at 6.30pm...it was 7pm.then for show to start at 8pm instead it was a young lad singing for half hr, Then a break for half hour, then low an behold a projector image appears from under the stage at 9pm .Don't get me wrong orchestra was great but the rest was a farce. There were a lot of people we were chatting giving off considering every seat paid either £49 or£55 .it was total rip off. Added to this people allowed in drunk which I had 2 beside me, one which caused a disturbance at door 8,and then they were in an out from the bar all night I might as well have stood while I was there. Needless to say we left early for our 100 mile drive home again. NEVER to be back here again and I'm letting anyone that asks no about our experience. Drinks should not be allowed in a seated stadium .Smaller theatres don't allow it may be you at waterfront should take a leaf outa...

The Pros: Staff were really friendly and helpful, even when they had to essentially deal with the same enquiry over and over again. The food was really tasty, and there was usually a free-from option that catered to most dietary requirements, there was also a good selection of teas available. The centre is really beautiful and airy with fantastic views and an easy-to-access location.

The Cons: There were multiple technical difficulties which persisted for the first two or three days -such as audio projecting into the wrong room, projectors not working, computers logging off at random etc. While the food was tasty, the portions were really mean and small The air con was consistently too cold, many people were wearing coats in presentations, we were told to ask staff if we were too cold, but I saw no improvement.

This review is definitely generally positive and I had a good time there and would return, but there are issues that a conference venue like this should...

This is a lovely, spacious, and clean theatre. Very accessible to people with disabilities. The staff are also very professional, and attentive. The stewards kindly assisted every patron to their seat, and were really nice. The only set back here I found was the drinks…. The prices for a start were extortionate. A sippy cup Carlsberg, a sippy cup non alcoholic G&T and a bag of Harribos cost £20.40. The IPA cans were gone off, I saw two people returning these. And the Carlsberg went very quickly, we were not exactly spoiled for choice as it was. Furthermore, upon inquiring, there is a £1 levy for the apparently mandatory sippy cup (see picture) which is non refundable. I wasn’t given the option to take just the drink by itself, in a can for example, but it was put into this God awful cup that wouldn’t look out of place with a toddler or with an infirm person living in a care home. Do proper pints please, and charge accordingly. (Jim Jefferies was class!)

The main auditorium is one of the best concert venues I've been to. The layout is specially designed to enhance views and acoustics, and it really does the job well. The other meeting venues and the main conference hall are all pretty standard for a conference facility. Varying levels of comfort and some with no natural light but generally fine. Excellent location, across the road from Lanyon Place train station and on many bus routes and one of the Glider routes. Could benefit from a more informal café/bar on the ground floor for event days/nights but there's a Hilton with a bar and restaurant next door, a Caffe Nero just outside, and a few other bars and restaurants within a short walk. Not in the middle of the city centre or anything but close enough. If it's a nice day try having a picnic by the Lagan.
