I would highly rate this library 10/10. There is huge sitting space for students. Everything from library’s washroom to cafeteria is so clean. There are designated space for group studies and people who prefer studying at silent space. It’s well ventilated with natural sunlight. The best thing is during term time it’s 24 hours and Moreover, the library staff is so helpful and kind. Can’t be more grateful to have this library near to my home.

This is the main Library of University of Birmingham. It’s very big and has enough space to accommodate students in peak hours. The book collection is marvellous , and I could almost find all technical books I needed. Food and drinks are available at the ground floor. It could have been better if there was a coffee outlet that worked 24x7 since the library is in use throughout the night as well.

I had a wonderful experience at the University of Birmingham library yesterday, and I want to particularly commend one member of staff, Jane Trobridge, who went above and beyond to assist me.

I hadn’t expected much that day as printing services in libraries are usually self-service, but my printer had stopped working, and I was hoping the library could help. From the moment I inquired about the printing service, Jane greeted me warmly and made me feel reassured. Despite encountering an issue with my student ID card that prevented me from signing in, Jane was incredibly patient and pleasant throughout the process.

Given my time constraints, I explained that I might have to leave without resolving the issue, as I was running late for a study day. However, Jane continued to try and help me, and in the end, she managed to sort everything out and get my documents printed in no time. Thanks to her swift assistance, I was able to attend my study day fully prepared, which I hadn’t expected to be possible.

Jane’s kindness, professionalism, and willingness to go out of her way to help me are truly commendable. She is a credit to the library service and the University of Birmingham as a whole. Thank you so much, Jane—I genuinely appreciate your help and hope to pay forward your kindness to someone else in the same way...

The new library is truly astounding, with a great low-priced cafe, and comfortable study areas throughout the levels, including several on the ground floor. University swipe card needed for entry. Loaning and returning books is all done electronically.

I would like to see all study tables however have dividers for privacy. These tables are already in 'quiet zones' and I believe they will help independent study. Other than this, it's very good, open and spacious, and the lifts are a...
