Discriminatory Treatment at Superdrug Store
I am writing to express my profound disappointment and concern regarding the discriminatory behaviour I encountered at one of your Superdrug branches. My recent visit was distressing, as I was subjected to what I perceived as racial profiling and blatant disregard by members of your store team.
From the moment I entered the store, one of the sales assistants persistently stared at me, creating a hostile and uncomfortable environmentāas though I were under suspicion. Such behaviour is deeply offensive and suggests an assumption based solely on my appearance. I would like to firmly remind your team that being a person of colour does not equate to being untrustworthy. I am a skilled worker in this country, contributing to the economy and paying taxes, just like any other citizen.
Furthermore, when I politely requested assistance in accessing a lipstick that was difficult to retrieve, another member of staff responded dismissively and rudely, saying: āIf you canāt take it, I also canāt.ā Her tone was condescending and unhelpful. I question whether such a response would have been given to a white customer. The contrast in treatment suggests a disturbing lack of professional training and a possible bias that needs to be urgently addressed.
I have worked hard to build a life here, overcoming many challenges. I expected better from a well-established brand like Superdrug, which I believed to stand for inclusivity and fairness.
I sincerely hope your organisation takes this matter seriously. I urge you to conduct a review of the customer service standards at this particular store and to offer proper training in anti-discrimination and cultural sensitivity.

Ā Ā Ā Read morePopped in for a makeup re stock after visiting another Superdrug which couldnāt help. I was struggling to find the brand of powder I always use as the front of the packaging rubbed off. I was convinced it was another brand so I was looking for some time. The lovely staff member literally knew which one it was after I showed her a picture i had of just the back of the powder! She literally said thatās the rimmel one and picked it up for me!
I was so shocked and impressed. I donāt even know how she managed to know right away after just looking at a picture. She was amazing! I have been looking for this for so long! The lady was a short English lady who was wearing glasses! Sorry I didnāt ask for your name. Thanks so...
