I'd like to start by saying that it's challenging for me to make direct comparisons with other water parks, as the only one I've visited before was a significantly larger park in Thailand. However, I can share my thoughts on our experience at this particular park.
Pros: Ample Parking: There's plenty of parking available, which made arriving and leaving the park convenient. Friendly Staff: The staff were welcoming and courteous, which added to the overall positive vibe of the day. Wetsuit Rentals: It's great that you can rent wetsuits, which is a nice touch for those who need them.
Areas for Improvement: Inflatable Maintenance: The maintenance of the inflatables left much to be desired. We noticed that at least five different elements were partially deflated, and some areas were missing handholds, which affected the overall experience. Cleanliness Issues: We participated in the session that started at 11 am, likely the first of the day. Unfortunately, the inflatables were covered in geese droppings, which the staff seemed to overlook as they mostly sat around looking bored. While one staff member made an attempt to clean toward the end of the session, it was too little, too late. Staff Presence on Inflatables: Another odd aspect was that the staff occupied some of the inflatables themselves. Given the park's size, this reduced the space available for visitors and limited access to some areas. Crowd Management: The park is divided into two areas, and you get 30 minutes in each. I would recommend splitting the group into two so that each area is used more efficiently, reducing wait times. As it stands, queues formed, and we often had to wait 2-5 minutes before accessing certain elements.
Overall: We had a positive experience, but there are several areas where improvements could significantly enhance the experience for...
Read moreMy 15 year old daughter has developed an enthusiasm for waterskiing and has just started to learn how to wakeboard, so we have started to go to Thorpe lakes on a few occasion for a boat ski and to ride on the cable. The boat drivers are all experienced, competent and give good feedback, so we've had a great experience on the boat so far. The cable is a 4 tower system, so can be savage at the corners if you are a novice. A few circuits on the knee board might be a good option if you have never done this before. A better option for starters is the 2 tower tow, where you get dedicated instructions for half and hour and can transition from a complete beginner to riding with some comfort quite quickly. For the more experienced, there are plenty of rails and kickers to play on and it's always impressive to watch some of the better riders show off their tricks. The facilities are modest- portakabin showers/ changing rooms- but the staff are super friendly, helpful and create a relaxed atmosphere. You can get snacks and hot drinks here and don't get charged for extras (like sitting on the sand beach) or searched by security for food and drink like some other water parks around the...
Read moreWent today with my daughter and 15 year old Grandson, and sadly came away very concerned and disappointed. This was a public session and there were many young people as well as adults clearly of all differing standards. My Grandson has been once before and was thrilled he made the first corner this time. However he cane off hitting his head st the far end of the lake. We suddenly realised there was no staff that end, no one had noticed he was in trouble and my daughter screamed at staff who slowly got a boat out. Fortunately he had managed to get to the edge. I also fell as some very large steps on decking that deceptively looks all the same level. I did report my concerns but was simply told they only had staff the far end at kids club! Sadly safety didn’t seem to figure very highly. My family also reported the docks were terribly hard to get up on even for my Grandson who is quite tall. There was also large amounts of weeds round the docks which made made getting out very difficult.
All in all a very disappointing visit which left my Grandson too fearful to carry on and my daughter concerned and out of pocket which for a single mother is a big deal! Would...
