Be warned, the computer system at Bridlington Leisure centre is not fit for purpose. My wife and I, both full members which includes free parking, went swimming with our heavily pregnant daughter and three grandsons all under six. On entry my wife entered our car registration into the computer and we both scanned our membership cards to gain entry to the pool. On leaving we found we had been given a parking ticket and me wife went back into the centre to check why. The lady behind the desk said our registration wasn't showing up on the computer, something that has happened before to other members. She asked for proof of entry from our membership cards and was told that the internet had been playing up and hadn't registered us but to contest the fine saying we were members and had free parking. Apparently other members who had done this before and had been successful. Our appeal was rejected and we have been ordered to pay a £50 fine, even though we pay our membership each month and have free parking. I have just been down to the centre to see if anything could be done and whilst waiting for the manager I witnessed some members scan there cards only to be told that the internet was down and wouldn't register them. They all went in as they had valid membership cards. The system is a total joke and so are East Riding Council, all they care about is robbing people any way they can. The one thing that would prove we were in the centre is the CCTV at the desk but I was told they only use this for security and couldn't review it for this reason. ERC you are a total disgrace, a joke and a set of thieves. My wife and I will be cancelling our memberships and will look to join an honest company. Finally on my rant, in no way does this reflect on the staff who work at Bridlington who are all lovely and always happy to help. Two of my grandchildren have lessons at the centre and enjoy...
Read moreWe visited this place last summer & the summer before,it has two pools. One pool is ideal for young children and non swimmers, as it is not very deep at all. It has 2 funslides and typical water falls etc. There is a time limit to how long you have in the swimming,i think its 90 minutes, you are given coloured bands so you know when your times up as it is announced over the tannoy. This is great as the pools dont get ovetcrowded and your little ones can have fun! The other pool is bigger and more geared to more towards people that enjoy a swim. There is also plenty of room as a spectator and its usually quite warm sitting there. There is also a jaquzzi which i think there is an age limit for entry. Within the complex there are climbing walls too and also a cafe, which serves hot and cold drinks and meals. The views from here are beautiful and the place is usually always very clean and tidy. Admission to the complex is cheap compared to other places. If you use the car park which is located in front of the complex simply take a part of your pay and display ticket to the desk and they deduct some of the charge from your admission!which is usually unheard of these days. But check inside the complex to be sure. The complex runs fitness classes for the gym and swim through the week and the prices are good. Customer service excels here,as we havent had any problems at all. When we have had any questions staff are knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend this to...
Read moreNot a great experience unfortunately. Showed up with a 1 year old at 10:00. At no point when purchasing a day pass for swimming did any of the reception staff mention that the kids area wasn't open until 12:30... Why would you not think to mention this when you see someone with a 1 year old? Got changed and showered only to be told (very impolitely) by a total jerk of a lifeguard that the kids pool wasn't open. He suggested to just get in the cold lane swimming pool - absolutely not suitable. Left, and as per the advice of another member of staff returned at 12:30. Got changed again (which isn't that easy with a 1 year old), to then find out that the toddler/baby pool wasn't open, and only the Splash Zone. Why?! Not entirely sure, but the splash zone was definitely not suitable for the smaller kids. One absolute nob tried to spay my son with a water cannon. Special bonus that the sauna and jacuzzi are only accessable to members. Ultimately, would be helpful if all of the above information was more readily available on the East Riding Leisure website. It's not. Thanks for that - really unpleasant experience. Would have been able to make an informed choice to AVOID with a 1 year old if the website actually explained what is accessible to who and when. Sort your selves out guys. Not good...
