I'm always amused when ex students spring a "hello sir!" from behind the bar/sales desk they're working behind. Most (it happens a lot - I've been in the trade a while) just look at me as if to say "I know you I'm sure but I'm not saying anything in case I'm wrong". I'm just as mute but usually because I'm thinking "I know you for sure but I'm not saying anything in case I embarrassingly get your name wrong" So yes - always nice. After she'd pulled my pint and we'd exchanged pleasantries I sat down. Very busy (as per usual on a Saturday) but even more so since I was joining the hoards to watch city (as it turned out) thump Norwich today. Great indie venue, v. boho (as befits North St nowadays) and outstanding beer đș (on the cider today but my better half's stout was out of the park good). In the old days you couldn't have expected the professional classes in a place like this to be hobnobbing with the hoolies but times change - I can't see if they're not one and the same now and that's why I love bristol.    Read more2 stars because service in the cafe was bad and orders were wrong. Also there are no meat options to eat.. Only vegan and vegetarian so if you're a meat lover don't waste your time. I was absolutely starving but I had nothing on the menu to choose from.. And feeling forced to eat strictly vegan or veg is uncomfortable especially after hearing that the place is "great".
Apart from that, the venue looks really great and I love the fact that it supports the art and indy scene, there was no entertainment to experience so I can't coment on that.
but I won't be going back anyway just based on the fact that the service was shoddy and there was no meat options to eat and no amount of entertainment or the way a place looks can make up for bad service and not giving patrons different food options. But it seems to be great for drinkers and vegetarians, so if you're like that then you'll love this place, so...
Read moreNice selection of stalls - there are about 40 in total (its not a very big market) Lots of food- I've had several different hummus flavours; my friend bought some ceramic mugs which were on the pricey side; we also got some tempeh, which was delicious; I bought a handmade ring for the very reasonable price of £12. Great for a Sunday morning stroll (make sure you arrive sans- breakfast as you'll find some tasty treats here. It's in the heart of North Street, so afterwards you can have a little look at the artisan shops nearby and mooch around the...
