Accessories in the Borough Market Hall are one if the best ladies shops EVER !!! If you like your lLagenlook, vintage and / or quirky this really is the shop to visit!!! Christine, the owner, has taken on a second unit & her vibrant displays of scarves, brollies, dresses, tops, costume jewellery etc etc shouldn't be missed regardless of the occasion you're shopping for or when you feel like treating yourself & us ladies have one of those now and again !! I've shopped with Christine more or less since she opened as I love the Lagenlook style. Her range plus now accessorise the choice is fabulous & so many styles & sizes I really can't imagine anyone being disappointed. Her pricing is also very fair and as I've shopped in several similar shops over many years I've found her prices to be very reasonable & a good deal in comparison. I daren't say how much today's ' little treat' cost me but I've got some lovely items that I'll really enjoy wearing. Thanks to Christine and Janet, 15/10 and very much deserved, thank you x x Well, who's spotted the new cheese stall in our Market? Being passionate about cheese, pickles and the 🌟 of any cheeseboard olives in every variation, this one is a double definie MUST go !! I treated myself to a bag of goodies yesterday and out with the crackers at home and heaven on a teaplate with what else but a mug of naturally, Yorkshire Tea to wash it down with. Like I said heaven on a plate and when I go back next week, probably for a few more treats, then I'll take pictures and you'll see exactly what I mean. Clever guys running the show, they've got tiling to match the originals which are absolutely gorgeous and I'd hate to see any more damage done to our town by what can I say ? Greedy out of town'ers who think it's OK to fill it with drunks and idiots who run the poor Police off their feet. Brilliant in so many ways with amazing Victorian buildings but greed like so many other places is ruining the whole place for many local people. Houses gone, greedy landlords pushing disabled into homelessness just isn't right. Lots of Services who do incredible work helping but where are the Council when people really need help? Grabbing money to pay into the flaming Piece Hall and their own pension scheme. Then what happens? You get taxed like me and it...

The best Thai street food i had in a long time. Portions of soup where.... Let me quote my gf... That's a big one. And yes, it's a good idea to have it (food served there) as a take out. Why yoy may or not asked. Qell there's limited sitting space there. Limited so much that it makes you feel claustrophobic even.
Tom Kha. The best Tom Kha i had i a long run. First of all it is spicy. Spicy in a madras way if i had to compare it to Indian cuisine. All of my TK soups where spicy but not as much this one. I'm rarely speechless but this soup took my breath away for a second. Or two. And it wasn't chillies in thus soup. It was the stock it self being prepared this way.
Chimken pieces comes next. And for what i paid, i should get quarter of the pieces i had. I'm used to pay more for less and here's the opposite. Definitely something i enjoyed and was well prepared. Mushrooms too where cooked well. Not in a way you would say chief put it's heart into it but not something that was made in a way hw would say... That would do.
Lemon grass, that you can taste here was not present. Which is good news for me. Since i hate it even more than Labours, in my soup. I'm enjoying soup, not fishing ingredients from it. And rice noodles, a.k.a. vermicelli. Because there's a difference FYI. And spring cabbage. And coconut milk.
I also had red curry after soup. And was expecting something that would burn through my stomach like truth through politician. But you know what? It was mild. Carrots where cut in a nice fancy way. And thers courgette also fancy made. As lets be honest. Part of what you eat is what eyes can see. And i loved what i saw.
After i left I've asked my self one question. Will i be back (but i didn't ask this question with this German accent.) 🤣🤦
And i knew the answer already. What sold me was not the food. Of which i could talk for hours. It was what lady that was taking my order wrote. Or rather the way she did it. She did it in her native language. And that was something that told me they still keep part of thier country with them. With that in mind i knew food will be just as goodbas any other, ordered somewhere on the streets of...
Read moreVibrant, thriving and busy with loads of choice in stalls, including my favourite, a haberdashers! Beautiful, colourful metal gates. Grade 2 listed Victorian market opened in 1896 and a couple of minutes walk from the historic Piece Hall. Lots of eateries within with seating. Step free access with automatic doors. Open Monday to Saturday 9am - 5pm. It's layout and architecture is very similar to that of Leeds Kirkgate Market, the old centrepiece clock is similar and it also has the same cast iron wyverns supporting the structure. The architects, John and Joseph Leeming, did Halifax's wyverns before Leeds Kirkgate's. Wyverns are two legged dragons, common heraldic motifs and also associated with industry. Undergoing construction works at the moment so lots of scaffolding about inside. Definitely worth visiting this hubbub if you are...
