RED HERRING ESCAPE ROOMS — Attraction in Carlisle

I called on the 17th of March to book Saturday the 26th for my sons birthday. My details were taken and I was told I would get a call back that evening. I never received a call back. I tried calling many times and it always went to voicemail. My husband called this morning and our details were once again taken,to be told we would receive a call back. At 5pm I called again and it went to voicemail. Finally at 5.30 pm I received a call back to be told that the booking couldn't happen due to the host being somewhere else. I then said I was unhappy due to waiting 5 days only to be told we couldn't book.i was told to take my son somewhere else. My son wanted to visit the escape room for his birthday. Not somewhere else. I said I would leave a bad review. I was then shouted at and told life happens. Shocking customer service from...

Terrible and horrible attitude and experience. Really excited to do the last room having done all the others. But the guy had other ideas.

Didn't say the room had started just that he was going up to the control room so expected it to be started over the intercom like they normally do. So we just stood there waiting. After a few minutes of that started waving at the camera to see if it was going to start, nothing. Started banging on the door to see if still outside. Eventually came down and we asked if it had started to be told we were 5 minutes in. Asked if we could restart the timer but told no!!!

Real shame as other experiences have always been good but you get one person with a bad attitude and...

We tried two of the escape rooms (Surelock and Shipwrecked) here and absolutely loved both! Without spoiling too much, the rooms definitely live up to the name RED HERRING which adds a unique twist you don't often find in other games. I also loved that all of the rooms had a secondary objective to chase; it felt like you were rewarded with something even when you were searching in the wrong area.

I also want to praise our host, Christina, who was absolutely amazing on both visits. They made us feel very welcome, really matched our energy, and made the rooms even more enjoyable than they already were. Would definitely recommend even if you've done a lot of escape rooms...
