Went here with my parents on a trip to visit my parents and OMG the pizza! Literally the best GF pizza I've ever had! The base was as close to a pizza with gluten I've ever tasted. I can't remember the name of the Blue cheese pizza I had, but I can highly recommend it. My mum who is coeliac is able to eat here safely too, and really enjoyed her pizza. I think she tried one with ham and possibly pineapple, but I can't remember. My dad had the salmon risotto and said it was delicious too. Food was lovely, nicely presented, in a short amount of time, drinks were delivered quickly too. I don't drink alcohol, so am always on the lookout for a good alcohol free drinks menu, and this one didn't disappoint.
When funds allow I'd love to be able to pay another visit to this lovely friendly, GF friendly restaurant. I really enjoyed my visit here. Final point, as someone who has ADHD and comes from a ND family this restaurant is perfect. The lighting is subtle, and the background noise is unobtrusive. We were put in a side area, off the main part of the restaurant which was perfect for us. If you prefer lively, the tables in the main restaurant area have more of a buzz.
Thank you for a wonderful family meal! I wish I had taken pics, but sadly I didnt this time. I will if I...
Read moreOur first visit last Wednesday ...... superb! I eat out frequently and will criticise when necessary, but Amato’s was faultless! Good decor, not fussy but bright and clean, loos also ditto. And the food ..... well, we each had something different and friends both asked for menu changes, e.g. one requested chicken instead of spiced scililian sausage with his tagliatelle ..... ‘not a problem, Sir’! I had a starter as my main course - because I had seen the dessert menu (!) and both courses were delicious, beautifully presented; one can watch the chefs working from many of the tables. All staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Have tried several times to book again, strongly advisable, but no luck re contact, and no ansaphone on, I will try once more this evening when they open. Wonderful food at reasonable prices - a...
Read moreGreat restaurant in the historic area of Carlisle adjacent to the Cathedral. The premises are well decorated without being busy. Well staffed and attentive too, but not so much it becomes a distraction but just right for making you feel welcome. The food is well made and very well priced with a large selection of specials on the board. Me and a friend went for simple lunch fare, my friend the spaghetti carbonara and myself the spaghetti bolognese, both very well made and very tasty. The wine was chilled just right which was especially nice as it was quite humid out. No dessert on this occasion but finished with coffees and a limoncello. Definitely worth going and experiencing for yourself. In fact we are going back on Friday for dinner. Looking forward to it already. It's going to be hard to leave room...
