A great traditional public house, which offers a wide range of products and some delicious lunch time food on its menu, I can well recommend the food, as I am a keen cook myself.
Both David and Davy the proprietors offer friendly conversation and useful advice to any visitor or regular customer of this public house. The ambience of the lounge bar is tastefully decorated and has comfortable seating in a homely and welcoming environment. There is usually a choice of real ales, house wines, ciders and spirits.
The Boardroom public house is easy to find in the semi pedestrianised terraced and cobbled street area of Paternoster Row, next to the historic grounds of the dominating Sandstone Carlisle Cathedral, which is definitely worth a visit :)
( please note it does have a single wide step to enter the premises, and is Cash Sale only business- The boardroom also has small clean, male and female toilet facilities).
I mainly attend The Boardroom on a Wednesday night at 20:00 hours for the weekly general knowledge quiz with its raffle prize. Teams of up to four members can enter for the quiz, at a cost of just Β£1 per member, it's very...

I was at the pub in the afternoon, so it was extremely quiet. If you want a quiet drink with the girlfriend, then this is where to go. On a night time though, it does get busier, and on a Wednesday night there is a Quiz. The bar is well stocked. Prices are comparable with other establishments. The pud is small, to medium sized and is, very atmospheric, because of its old dark panelling. Though the pub is in the opposite direction to all the other pubs, you will still find people there on a night time, so give it a go. I don't know if the...

The staff were welcoming and friendly and were great with my little one. The food was absolutely perfect, couldn't fault it! The only bad point was that there was no high chairs for younger children which made things interesting π ! Food is also only served between a select time (which would be helpful if I could remember those hours π¬π) something like 12- 1.45 but helpfully it could be an hour before π¬π. Definitley recommend for a...
