Mr Mulligans Cheltenham — Attraction in Cheltenham

Paid online, was a surprise gift for my boyfriend, as he loves to do little sporty activities like golf rock climbing ect so I thought that this would be a great idea, we were booked in for the 6 o'clock slot and we arrived 5 minutes early which we thought would be just fine, however the lady at the desk refused our entry as they were at full capacity which we said that's fair about however we asked if we could go sit in the bar area and wait for there to be more room for us to go in again she refused this and said that we weren't allowed into the bar area to wait either we were confused by this being as the bar was completely empty and we'd be giving them good business if theyd allowed us to do so, but no we had to stand by the main desk and wait for some people to come out for our game, the lady didnt even check my phone for my booking details, when we finally managed to get into the course we found ourselves having to wait a long time for each hole as there were a number of drunk stag and hen do's ahead of us so we couldn't full enjoy the course and ended up skipping a load, I had paid for the 18 holes but the lady at the desk also forgot to mention that each 18th hole on the course steals your ball and so we only ended up putting 15 holes instead of the whole 18 I'd paid for. To make this place a lot better I think there should be a time cut off point for children to make it a lot safer for them to enjoy and I think that customers that arrive 5 minutes earlier than their appointment should be able to get refreshments from the bar area especially when it is...

I wouldn't recommend booking a party here. We booked this as a works Christmas party , but unfortunately, nobody had a great experience.

We arrived around 4.30pm. No Guiness when we arrived, ran out of Inch's Cider less than an hour after, then ran out of Morretti about half an hour after that. (One of the IPA's had gone too by the time we finished food and headed to the golf), which pretty much left bottles of fruity cider, small cans of IPA or Heineken Silver. And for it being a Saturday night and leading up to Christmas, you'd think they'd be stocked up. It wasn't even busy!

Calling the food 'The Ultimate Christmas Buffet' is a bit of a stretch!

No staff member or host pointed out to the vegetarian in the group what was/wasn't vegetarian. Obvious to us was the salad, cheese pizza and garlic bread. But she wasn't aware that she also could've had some little cheese pastry things and some other strange little bites of some kind that were there. Nobody knew what they were.

The 'host' was polite enough but shouldn't be called a dedicated host. Nice chap, but didn't look comfortable in the roll, perhaps it was his first time? All of the staff were polite and professional, as you'd expect.

Everyone left and went somewhere to by food then find a bar that actually had draughts on tap. Shame, because the plan was to stay at Mulligans and use the darts, pool table and...

Loved the golf and the staff were pleasant. Someone came round whilst we were on the course to offer more drinks. The alcoholic slush was really nice but at £5.50 each a tiny bit on the steep side. The reason I have only given 2 stars is the cleanliness was not at all good. In the gents there was excrement all over one of the toilet seats and all up the wall and generally very dirty also urine on toilets and litter on the floor. Checked the toilet check sheet and it had last been checked at 11am... It was not 10pm which says it all. Also lots of empty cups all over the course and litter. If cleanliness was upheld I would gladly give at least 4 stars. Worrying thing is of the toilets and course are this filthy what is their kitchen like? Wouldn't be in a rush to eat here! They can't help it if a dirty customer craps on the toilet but what they can do is make reasonable efforts to check facilities and the fact the toilets were left 11 hours without being checked shows they don't care about cleanliness... 2 or 3 hourly checks are usually considered to be appropriate in leisure...
