It has everything a child would want - play areas for different age groups, paddle boats, an adventure trail, swans and ducks to feed, ice creams & refreshments, a few small animals, a large green to play in, room to walk around the lake, rowing boats, a sand and water play area, a skate park, tennis courts, and now a zip line. There are always other birds (on the lake, and in the reeds and trees), that bird watchers can enjoy. My grandson and I take our binoculars with us. We have spotted herons, great crested grebes, moorhens, cormorants, and canada geese so far. The two halves of the park are connected by an underground tunnel, which young ones love to hear their voices echo in. Pitville Pump Rooms (famous for Cheltenham's Spa waters), can be found at the top of the park; with a bandstand on the huge green in front. The green is perfect for picnics; including dogs - which are always welcome in the park. Fishing is permitted on the lake during the fishing season, for permit holders. There are public toilets by the toddlers play area (which is fenced and gated), near the tunnels connecting the two halves of the park. The park is well signposted, with many information boards; and the park and grounds are...

In summer or on hot dry days you can take your food and have a nice relaxing picnic on the lawns or ball games. That's up by the Pitville Pump rooms which from time to time will have events there. There's a boating lake where you can hire a small rowing boat and row up and around the island. There's a small café which serves food and ice creams and near by there's always an ice cream van around. There are toilets situated near the Evesham road area which is near the play areas as the park is in 2 halves. There's the swimming baths situated on the edge of the park. Read morePittville Park is such a lovely spot in Cheltenham and definitely worth a visit. It’s one of those places that has a bit of everything and feels welcoming every time you go. The park itself is really well kept, with loads of space to walk, relax, or just sit on a bench and watch the world go by. The big lake with the swans and ducks is beautiful – it’s so peaceful just strolling around it.
One of my favourite parts is the little animal area. They’ve got rabbits, birds and a few other animals there, which is such a nice surprise and brilliant if you’ve got kids with you. There’s also a great play area with plenty for children of different ages, so it’s perfect for a family day out.
The café by the lake is lovely too – good coffee, ice creams, and snacks, and it’s nice to sit outside and enjoy the view. There’s always a really friendly atmosphere around the park, and you can tell how much care goes into looking after it.
Whether you’re walking the dog, meeting friends, or just want some fresh air, Pittville Park is a fantastic place...
