During my recent visit to this place, I was fortunate enough to have an absolutely fantastic experience that left me thoroughly impressed. The culinary delights that awaited me were nothing short of amazing, and I couldn't help but revel in the delightful flavors and aromas that filled the air.

As I perused the menu, my eyes settled on a few delectable options that immediately caught my attention. Without hesitation, I decided to embark on a culinary journey by ordering hoppers, a traditional Sri Lankan dish known for its unique bowl-shaped pancake made from fermented rice batter. Alongside the hoppers, I opted for a serving of fried rice, a comforting and flavorful staple that never fails to satisfy. To complement these delightful choices, I couldn't resist ordering the goat curry with sambal, a mouthwatering combination of tender meat cooked in a fragrant blend of spices and accompanied by a fiery condiment.

The moment my food arrived at the table, I could tell that I was in for a treat. The hoppers were freshly made and had a light, fluffy texture that perfectly contrasted with their crispy edges. They served as an ideal vessel for soaking up the aromatic curries and sambal, creating a delightful medley of flavors with every bite. The fried rice was cooked to perfection, with each grain glistening and separate, infused with a tantalizing blend of spices and adorned with colorful vegetables that added both freshness and visual appeal to the dish. And let's not forget about the goat curry with sambal—a true masterpiece of culinary expertise. The meat was succulent and tender, practically melting in my mouth, while the rich, aromatic curry sauce enveloped each piece with its deep flavors. The sambal, with its fiery kick, added an additional layer of complexity and excitement to the dish, leaving my taste buds in a state of pure bliss.

What impressed me just as much as the exceptional food was the prompt and efficient service provided by the staff. From the moment I stepped foot in the establishment, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to ensure that my dining experience would be nothing short of extraordinary. The servers were attentive, knowledgeable, and more than happy to offer recommendations or address any inquiries I had. Their professionalism and dedication were evident in their swift responses to requests and their ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for...

Awful! Terrible service. We ordered the food, and then waited and waited and waited. It took over 35 minutes for food to arrive for the two of us. No idea why it took so long, it was a quiet lunch time, only two other tables there. I have eaten here before, two years ago, and usually the dishes arrive here and there in reasonable time.

The staff had plenty of opportunity to update us on what was happening, they did not. I had to ask if there was a problem and was told soon. Finally all the dishes arrived at once, for here that is unusual. The food was surprisingly bland, and just warm. It did not taste fresh and must have been sat on the side getting cold for a long time, as did we at the table.

Whilst waiting, the table of one behind us, received her food, had eaten some, left a lot. She told the server that it was not enjoyable. We assumed she could not take the chilli heat. Or perhaps had the same opinion as us.

When I asked for the bill, I hoped for an apology and a discount. The bill came to £55, with no discount, and they included a 10% service charge (optional). A tip, should be at the customers discretion if they feel they had good service. Really hate that certain restaurants do that option of making the customer feel uncomfortable to ask for this cost to be removed off the bill. Instead I should have received 10% off the bill for experiencing their bad food and service.

Also, why is the music so loud. Neither of us enjoyed our experience here. For a lunch it is expensive and would expect much more. So disappointing, because I remember when it was good. Will not recommend this and won’t be...

You won't believe the fantastic time we had at The Coconut Tree in Cheltenham during our trip to the Cotswolds! We were so blown away by the food and atmosphere that we ended up dining there two nights in a row. The flavours were just out of this world – a delightful mix of authentic Sri Lankan tastes with a creative twist. We savoured the Kotthu, Hopper, and devilled chicken, and each dish was bursting with mouth-watering flavours. Even my 10-year-old daughter couldn't stop grinning as she enjoyed the delicious food and the lively, vibrant setting.

The vibe at this place is absolutely electric—it's like a party that you definitely want to be a part of. The staff was brimming with energy and made us feel like part of their family. A special shoutout to Rotny, the restaurant manager—he was an absolute star! He ensured everyone was having a blast, chatted with guests, and ensured everything was perfect. You rarely find such a warm and attentive team these days.

And don't even get me started on the drinks – those coconut-based cocktails were to die for! They were the perfect complement to the spicy food, and we couldn't have enough. The whole experience completely blew us away, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable, especially considering the generous portions.

If you ever find yourself in Cheltenham and want to spice things up, you've got to check out The Coconut Tree. It's a haven for all the flavour enthusiasts, and the atmosphere is just a blast. We're marking our calendars to visit again the next time...
