33 The Rum Bar — Restaurant in Cheltenham

The Rum Bar has a great selection of rums, and cocktails (no idea about other spirits, didn't order them).

They had stuff not on the "menu" (what do you call a drinks list, is it still a menu?), like Pirates Grog, so if there's something you want, ask the staff, they pretty knowledgeable.

Had a good laugh with the staff (they were really sociable, more than willing to talk to us, and enjoy the few minutes of company and repertoire between customer and staff, 10/10)

The reason I'm knocking it down a star is the size, and the heat.

The size is very small, and although there's not much that can be done about that, I really hope the place makes enough money to open a 2nd bar somewhere a little larger!

The other issue is the heat, because it's pretty small, and people generate SO MUCH heat, it could really do with some air-con.

This is where the staff have been amazing. Despite the temperature, they were friendly, talkative, sociable, and worked amazingly well as a team, while I provided my order on a phone screen, with everything listed out (there were like 11 of us, it was easier to have a list of the phone, than shouting out the drinks one by one by one!)

So, if you're on a night out, and anywhere near Prestbury Road, pop in (it's not cheap, take a credit card!!🤣), and have great evening sampling all the rum's about!

Walked into a very chilled, relaxed atmosphere, definitely a unique bar with a variety of drinks to choose from and worth a visit. Asked for a recommendation and one of the bar staff was very engaging however let down by another member of the service team which was very disappointing. One particular server had absolutely no manners, face like a slapped fish and just let down the other members enthusiasm....

10/10 this place was amazing, we visited on Saturday evening and the bartenders were brilliant. Big shout out to Amber who made the night spectacular. Everyone was so lovely and so friendly. Good prices not too expensive and well worth what you are paying. Great recommendations and lovely drinks. I was recommended a June Bug and it was delicious. Will be coming back here again and...
