Huge free car park and many spaces for disabled drivers and mother and child parking. The car park is virtually on the door step of the mall and there is no long trek to the shops ( unless you park at the furthest away point that is) The tram also stops at the Gyle and of course is handy if you want to head into the city.
There is always a nice friendly atmosphere in this centre, shops are typical of what you would expect in an indoor mall. Food hall upstairs has a number of food vendors to choose from and there are plenty of seating. Coffee shops downstairs include Starbucks and Costa.
There is a Morrisons supermarket situated at the far end of the mall so it is easy to get your weekly shop and wheel them out to your car. Morrisons also have a petrol station on the grounds of the car park. Marks and Spencer has quite a large store which includes a cafe and food hall. It is one of the better M&S stores to shop in. The mall is kept quite clean and the toilets are also kept in clean condition. Some smaller shops have closed in the centre which is no different to others around the country, hopefully the Gyle can attract more stores to open in the future. Overall the Gyle seems to have something...
Read morePoor customer service, after having to wait in what I thought was a queue waiting patiently for the customer representative to finish with them, it then became apparent that they had already been served and I was just being ignored by the representative, he then proceeded to get up and leave the customer service desk with a couple and proceed away from the desk down the mall, a second older male representative appeared but just leaned on the end of the desk and also ignore me, a third turned up with a wheel chair for the second couple already standing at the desk, he then went behind the desk and I finally got asked if I was being helped to which I replied no and what I was requiring, in mid conversation with the 3rd customer representative a woman with a child interrupted myself speaking with the representative and wanted him to check a card, he then proceeds to ask me to wait and serves the woman with the child, really poor customer service, they need to be somehow retrained in dealing with the public as their training seems to be...
Read moreIf you're not suicidal going into this centre, I can almost guarantee you will be by the time you come out. The food court's 'get up and go' got up and left a long time ago. The Pizza Hut and Burger King franchises have abandoned ship and the food court offers now only offers 2 options when it once was bustling and had 6 options. Sadly I suffered the Kitchen, an overpriced low quality sandwich offering. A number of the good shops, like Disney, have moved out and replaced by what can only be described as tartan tat shops. Management of the Gyle, if you are reading this, give your heads a wobble otherwise what stores that remain (M&S) will be leaving pronto. I'm off to go and make a noise for myself having spent more than 30 minutes in the Gyle. 2/10...
