We used this lounge for the first time today as a family of 4. We went for 7am, so we had the breakfast menu. The staff member who greeted us was friendly and really helpful, he soon helped my son to get the playstation 4 controller, games and checked he was getting on okay setting it up/using it. The football table was also a huge hit with us. Food was perfect, adequate for what we needed, plenty of it, replenished regularly and good food, there was sausage, bacon, baked beans and scrambled egg as hot food. There was also bread rolls, crossiants, preserves, fruit, yoghurt, mini muffins, shortbread biscuits and two cereals, the best has to be the pancakes for me and the machine was really simple to use too, with a few different toppings to choose from, maple syrup, icing sugar, chocolate sauce and lemon sauce. I personally had fruit on mine with a little maple syrup, it was devine! There is a screen for flight times, as well as a few TV's, plenty of seats and tables and there was also various magazines to read if you wished and they had games you could ask for to play with the kids. Although I know it isn't a huge lounge, at the time we visited it, it wasn't over busy and could have happily fitted more people in. Drinks options were brilliant too, they had orange, apple and cranberry juice, fizzy drinks on draft, wine, various spirts, bottles of larger, water and hot drinks, all of which we saw being replenished when needed, too. Personally we had, water, juice, coffee and Coke zero between us, and there are no complaints from us. I can't comment much on the view of the planes, as we generally were sat near the entrance to the lounge or in the games room. Overall we really loved the lounge and found the staff working hard to clear and clean tables and replenish food and drinks as required, the whole time we were there. If I was to say anything negative, it would be that the playstation 4 and games discs, need a little TLC as the console was a little mucky and the discs had a lot of finger marks on them, although it's to be expected with children using them a lot, but maybe they need checking a couple of times a week...
Read moreArrived early so went into weatherspoons to kill some time and my bank balance having paid 9 quid for a pint. I was relieved I booked this lounge at that point and was even more pleased after checking in with the delightful lady at the entrance. My joy died swiftly afterwards.
Don't expect a quiet, relaxing experience here. It was packed and we were lucky to find 2 comfy armchairs accompanied by a table filled with empty glasses and dirty plates. Bless the lady going round doing her best trying to keep the place clean (not sure if it was dawn or sue) but she was fighting a losing battle being the only member of staff in the entire lounge.
Food options are limited. We were told lunch was on its way out as we checked in so we waited for that. Your only option is jacket potato or nachos which were actually quite good.
Beer on tap was a nice thing to have except the beer clearly isn't stored in a cold place. The wine was good though. I decided to treat myself to a gin and tonic before I had to leave for the boarding gate. Spirit bottles are on the wall hanging upside down and you push your glass up to get your single measures. That's how it's supposed to work however I struggled to get my measure of gin as the bottle wobbled all over the place and the gin barely dribbled out. I tried and tried to get a measure before I was approached by a member of staff telling me to go away as I was pouring more than I was allowed. I showed her my empty glass but still she decided i was taking the p**s despite clearly seeing my glass was empty.
Toilets are dirty. 3 unisex cubicles for an entire lounge full of people trying to drink and eat their monies worth so obviously you're gonna have to queue for a while.
Is it value for money? Yes. Would I use this lounge again? Definitely not. Pay an extra tenner and go...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience with the service at this lounge recently. Despite arriving at 6:10 pm, well before the stated closing time of 7 pm, I was refused entry. I explained that I only intended to stay for a brief 10 minutes, but the manager named Tamara insisted they were closing early due to being “understaffed.”
What made the situation worse was when I tried to reason with the manager who was at the desk, explaining that I would only be inside for 10 minutes. She interrupted me as soon as I started speaking with: “As a matter of fact, this conversation is closed,” before turning her back on me and standing still facing the wall, dismissing the conversation entirely.
I found this behaviour extremely unprofessional, especially given that there were seven staff members present and the lounge was only around 10% full. It was clear they simply wanted to leave early, rather than offering the service expected from a venue of this type.
This lack of courtesy and respect, along with the unexplained early closure, has left a very poor impression. I won’t be returning anytime soon and cannot recommend this lounge to others based on my experience.
This version adds the specific interaction and maintains a formal tone to reflect the unprofessionalism you...
