Cotswold Outdoor Bakewell — Attraction in Derbyshire Dales

I've been a serious walker for more than 40 years and been very happy with 'economy' boots from industrial suppliers, Lidl or Aldi. (Mainly because it's not a lot of money to risk if they turn out to be unsuitable). More recently I've been getting the odd 'twinge' in my feet, so thought it was time to invest in a better quality boot. However, it wasn't easy for me to even contemplate spending 10x more to get them. I noticed Cotswold Outdoor (Bakewell) offered a fitting service and booked myself an appointment today. I was given undivided attention by staff member Victoria, who patiently offered advice, measured and assessed my feet aided by a computerised machine. She spent well over an hour helping me decided the best boots to consider. There was no sales pressure; just genuine and well informed advice. I recently visited the Cotswold Outdoors shop to buy hiking boots, and I had the absolute pleasure of being assisted by Vic (Victoria). She was nothing short of fabulous! From the moment I arrived, she was incredibly engaging, honest, and full of energy.

Vic took the time to really understand what I needed, giving me her undivided attention and making me feel completely at ease. She clearly knew her stuff, offering invaluable tips and tricks to ensure I got the perfect fit and feel for my boots.

Her friendly and approachable manner made the entire experience enjoyable, and her passion for helping customers really shone through. I left not only with the ideal hiking boots but also with a smile on my face.

Popped into the Bakewell store for a look at replacement hiking boots. I have Scarpa Mistrals and love them, Bought in 2020 but have many many miles on them. Victoria did a foot scan and talked me through that.She asked about my walking miles and the terrains etc etc. She explained the three catagories of boot adn that I needed to be in the big boy end! We tried on the two Scarpa options and I eventually plumped for the same ones I already have as they are like slippers. The other Scarpas were so comfy but just brown leather and I didnt like the look . Very attentive service despite the small shop being very full and busy.
