Longrun Meadow — Attraction in England

Great, flat, flood basin-turned-meadow in the centre on Taunton. There are paths that be accessed for wheelchairs and prams but they are stoney and prone to puddles! Other various paths are grassy and wind between the different areas. Great place to walk dogs or meet a friend for a stroll. Access points available from any side of the meadow but car parking is £1 near Castle School, with free parking at the P&R @Silk Mills (direct access to Longrun) or road parking near French Weir Park are best. Great cafe called The Weir joins French Weir Park and Longrun Meadow ... good place for a cake or takeaway coffee. COACH does Stand-Up Paddleboarding or Kayaking besides the cafe, on the river. A beautiful place to walk, run, cycle. I go here twice a day to walk my dog and never get bored of it. I love seeing how it changes through the seasons. My son and I litter pick occasionally but it’s a clean, well looked after place with lots of friendly people. Great for walking the dog and getting the kids to burn off some energy. Sometimes a bit tricky to round up the dog and kids when cyclists are zooming through without dinging a bell or alerting us until nearly crashing into one of them, but other than that...
