Queen Park in Brighton is a delightful escape from the bustling city life, offering visitors a serene and picturesque retreat. Nestled in the heart of the city, this green oasis is a favorite among locals and tourists alike, providing a tranquil space to relax, unwind, and connect with nature.

As you enter Queen Park, you are immediately greeted by a sense of calmness. The park's well-maintained pathways wind through lush green lawns, vibrant flowerbeds, and majestic trees that provide ample shade on a sunny day. The park's design seamlessly blends natural beauty with man-made features, creating a harmonious environment for visitors to enjoy.

One of the highlights of Queen Park is its enchanting rose garden. Bursting with colors and fragrances, the rose garden is a feast for the senses. Strolling through the neatly arranged rows of roses, you'll be captivated by the variety and beauty of the blooms. It's the perfect spot for a romantic walk or simply to find solace amidst the blossoms.

For those seeking outdoor activities, Queen Park offers a range of options. Sports enthusiasts can make use of the tennis courts or challenge friends to a game of football on the open fields. Families with children will appreciate the well-equipped playground, complete with swings, slides, and climbing frames, ensuring hours of entertainment for the little ones.

If you prefer a more leisurely experience, find a cozy spot on one of the park's many benches and enjoy a picnic or a good book. The peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal place to escape the noise of the city and immerse yourself in tranquility.

Another notable feature of Queen Park is its cafe, nestled near the entrance. Offering a selection of refreshments and light snacks, the cafe is a great spot to recharge and enjoy a cup of coffee or a delicious treat. The outdoor seating area allows you to soak up the park's ambiance while indulging in a tasty treat.

One minor drawback of Queen Park is that it can get quite busy, especially on weekends and during the peak tourist season. However, the park's expansive size means that even during crowded times, you can usually find a peaceful corner to enjoy.

Overall, Queen Park in Brighton is a charming and enchanting destination that offers a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. With its well-manicured gardens, recreational facilities, and serene ambiance, it is an ideal place to relax, rejuvenate, and connect with nature. Whether you're a local seeking a peaceful retreat or a visitor looking for a slice of tranquility, Queen Park is definitely...

This has just been refurbished and if you have little children it's great, nothing for the kids 9 upwards. There's a cafe that sells everything from sandwiches, hotdogs, ice cream, toasties etc. There is usually only one person servicing so be prepared to queue. Watch out for the hoards of seagulls that are waiting to snatch your just purchased food, this has happened to myself several times. The toilets are the absolute worst. Unclean, smelly and rancid. Myself and children refuse to use them. There is a pond which is home to some beautiful and rather tame ducks, geese and swans. The pond itself is relatively clean but has got bits of rubbish here and there. There is also a side park which has a luminous green trickle of water through it that once upon a time you could see the tadpoles and frogs but not anymore. There are lots and lots of squirrels, a few are tame and will come and take the nuts from your hand which is an absolute delight. There is a supposedly separate dog area but when we visited there were a few dogs in the actual park area. By the side of the pond there is a large green playing area and also a few tennis courts by the clock tower. All in all the park equipment is okay for young children, the cafe be prepared to queue and some things are pricey and it is cash only. Avoid the toilets if at all possible. Look out for dogs loose in the children's park. Bring bird seed for the ducks and geese, I and monkey nuts for the squirrel and the swans love lettuce. Just be mindful that the large green area by the lake has had a few groups of people getting merry and can be quite boisterous and sometimes intimidating...

My recent visit to Queen’s Park left much to be desired, as I was met with disappointment at nearly every turn. The park, which once held promise as a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city, now resembles more of a neglected relic than a vibrant recreational space.

One of the most glaring issues was the out-of-order fountain, a once-iconic feature of the park that now sits dormant and neglected. Its stagnant waters and crumbling facade serve as a sad reminder of the park’s decline, casting a shadow over the entire area. It’s a shame to see such a prominent landmark left in disrepair, robbing visitors of the beauty and serenity it once provided.

To make matters worse, the conditions of the restrooms were nothing short of appalling. The facilities were dirty, unkempt, and in dire need of maintenance. Broken fixtures, foul odors, and inadequate cleaning left a lasting impression of neglect and disregard for visitors’ comfort and hygiene. It’s unacceptable that a public space of this caliber would allow such dismal conditions to persist.

Overall, my experience at Queen’s Park was far from satisfactory. The sight of the out-of-work fountain and the state of the restrooms paint a bleak picture of a once-charming park now fallen into disrepair. Unless significant improvements are made to address these issues, I cannot in good conscience recommend Queen’s Park as a destination for leisure...

from places for the children to play to some were to walk the dogs queens park is a fantastic local park. neighbouring 2 schools and a nursery has a lot of children and young people after school hours and has a humungus park for them to play and explore in. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax or watch wildlife then you might want to go to the more peaceful areas like the pond and the rockery there is also a small sensory garden at the top of the park next to the tennis court bear in mind that on weekdays lots of school children will come to the rockery and Pond around 3 to 4 ish to catch frogs and tadpole and can sometimes be a bit noisy. If you come for sport you I'm in luck as Queen's Park has rentable tennis courts and large open green spaces to kick a ball around. Just one thing to keep in mind is there a lot of dodgy people who hang out in the less popular corners of the park however if you avoid those places you will be fine and community support officer's are always patrolling around despite this there have been few incidents including drug dealers so keep that in mind if you were visiting later in the day. To conclude Queen's Park is a lovely place to spend your free time or take the children for a day out as long as you stay away from the more dodgy people and try not to antagonise the geese as they have been known to bite you are guaranteed to have a lovely time

I love going to Queens park, it is a lovely place to go during all months of the year. In autumn, the colorful leaves are specially beautiful to admire. There are many dogs in the park playing, and there are dog-free zones as well. There's a children's park, a lovely pond and lots of green space. My favourite activity is to feed the squirrels and ducks around the park. The squirrels are quite friendly and will fetch peanuts from your hand, or you can throw them in their direction, it's a nice place to go for a refreshing walk. I will say that there are stone paths around the park if you don't want to step in the grass, but the park itself is a bit steep, going up and down, night be an issue if you have special mobility needs.
