My son Is dinosaur mad, unfortunately was very upset apon seeing the dinosaurs (im aware that its not the companies fault). On their website is doesn't say all purchases are final quite the contrary it states "refunds can only be permitted if following the terms of sale" which no terms were broken. It's not like we went around the entire exhibition. We walked in the gate exclaimed he was only 3 and we as the consumer had a right to change our minds. They didn't refund and the man definitely not gentlemen at the desk was extremely ride and seemed very arrogant. We went around very quickly to get out the other side not that there was much their anyway definitely not worth £8.95pp. On top of that we tried to calm my son down in the gift shop and was double charged. Yes they partially refunded. I found the service very poor. As to the response of the company I would like to state that you definitely got me confused with someone else. I was given a partial refund! Due to the fact 3.98 was charged for 1 set of 1.99 bubbles my son was not holding anything extra. We were buy the brown gate when we asked for a refund not "halfway around" I did not walk off in a "huff" you offered to turn off the sounds and I said it would be OK and said "thank you anyway" You also need to state that all payments are final which is not stated anywhere which means I could've gone around the entire thing and had the time of my life and still could of seeked a refund As well in my consumer rights hence why my bank refunded me. I did explain to my son dinosaurs aren't real. He liked the ones outside he watched the YouTube videos and asked to go which we did. He's been to the natural history museum and loved it but when there's a small dark confined space (your videos make it look very open and spread out) it's a little different if you want to just sit and bash my parenting that's fine because you've done that to almost every other parent who's left you a bad review. I would change your terms and conditions if I was you. Yes I do have a degree in business law. Thanks for all the parenting advice I will make sure that I tell my 3 year old just like dinosaurs his feelings...
Read moreFab little place. To be honest, we only went as it was tipping it down and we were looking for something inside to occupy our boys (age 3 & 6). I wasn't expecting much, but I thought that it was excellent. Reasonable price, although it would be nice if there was a discount for a family ticket. The displays were full of information and there was so much to see. The boys loved the two excavation sand pits and getting to sit on all the dinosaurs. I liked that it wasn't too scary for the children and the gruesome displays were round the corner or in little light up boxes so I could steer the boys away from them as needed. I thought the quiz was really good and very detailed. Well designed as it had questions to answer but also a dot to dot, drawings, true/false, circle the correct answer type questions so that parts were suitable for my 6yo to do by himself. The only thing I would change is the layout (although not sure if that would be possible?) as it was very busy when we visited and there were a few places where you have to double back on yourselves. We arrived just after 2pm and it really quietened down by 3ish so we could take our time. We left at 3:50 so spent just under two hours here. The staff were very friendly and an older gentleman (possibly the owner?) checked our quiz at the end. He was very nice to the boys and the shop seemed fairly reasonably priced. They stored our buggy and coats for us at the entrance too which helped to ease the congestion inside. I would say that it is good for dinosaur loving kids (and adults!) The displays were very detailed so lots to read if...

After driving over an hour with my young child—excited for a promised visit to Torquay’s Dinosaur Museum—we arrived well before the advertised last entry time of 3:30pm, only to find ourselves ignored at the front door. It was 3:13pm, doors locked, lights on, and multiple staff clearly visible inside. We knocked, waved, waited patiently, assuming there must have been some misunderstanding.
Eventually, a staff member begrudgingly came to the door only to give a flimsy excuse about being “the only one on site” and claimed there was a water leak. Funny that, considering a number of staff were plainly seen exiting shortly after—none of whom appeared in any rush to fix any imaginary leak. It was transparently obvious: they had simply decided to shut up early and head home.
What kind of attraction treats guests this way—especially a child who had been looking forward to it all day? It’s a small museum, not a national treasure, and yet the staff seem to think customer service and basic professionalism are optional. If you advertise 3:30pm as the last admission, don’t slam the door in someone’s face at 3:13pm.
Shame on the staff who decided their early finish was more important than honouring your opening hours, and double shame for fabricating nonsense rather than simply admitting they couldn’t be bothered. This isn’t just poor service—it’s downright disrespectful.
Avoid this place unless you want to risk wasting your time and dealing with staff who clearly don’t care about the people who make their...
