Filey Museum — Attraction in Filey

Hidden away in a quiet back street but well worth seeking out. What a gem of a museum, with an amazing variety of artefacts relating to local history and in a traditional old building. Well presented displays with very friendly and informative staff - with the enthusiasm you get from volunteers. For me this was the highlight of a visit to Filey. Both my Nana and Grampy were custodians of the museum here for a fair time while they were alive. I didn't visit recently but passed by as we walked through the town... Run by the Filey historical society, this is a hands on museum.You are able to handle and learn about every exhibit.The lovely people who man the museum are happy to teach you crafts e.g. knitting the Sunday jumpers or making "ship in a bottle".
