La Gondola Ristorante & Pizzeria — Restaurant in England

Very disappointed with our recent experience. I was quoted one price over the phone for a takeaway, but when I arrived, I was told a higher price with no clear explanation just an apology and asked if I was “alright with that.” I reluctantly agreed, but only after paying did I find out why the price had changed, and only because I asked.

When we got home, we realised part of the order was missing. I rang to check and was met with more apologies and asked to come back to collect it. At that point, I gave up won’t be returning.

The food we did receive was greasy, bland, and completely flavourless not how it used to be, despite now costing more. Worst of all, we found a hair right in the middle of the lasagne. I’m sure if I complained, they'd claim that once food leaves the premises, they can’t be held responsible but it would be hard to argue in this case, as it was embedded deep in the dish.

✨ A perfect celebration for our wedding anniversary at La Gondola Ristorante & Pizzeria in Filey! ✨ We chose La Gondola for our anniversary meal, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt just right for such a special evening.

The food was absolutely gorgeous—each dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. You can really taste the care and authenticity behind every bite.

A special thank you to the amazing staff—attentive, friendly, and genuinely lovely throughout. They helped make the night feel even more memorable.

We came across this place accidentally but what a happy accident!! The place we were staying had stopped serving food so we headed out to find something, we arrived to order 2 pizzas to take away and the gentleman inside said they had closed for the day. When my partner explained our situation he simply said no problem give me 5 minutes and made us 2 pizzas. They were absolutely delicious!!! Generous toppings and piping hot still when we got back. Didn't take photos as by the time I thought about it we had devoured the lot! We will definitely be visiting again next time we are in...
