I thought the shopping centre was a bit sterile. It was black Friday weekend and we foolishly decided to park up and get the park-and-ride bus which was an hour late into York due to the roundabout being over-congested. A rather foolish bit of town planning one roundabout that funnels three 'A' roads off into a single-track lane to the park and ride Designer Outle. As for the shopping centre, lots of shops are ready to take all our hard-earned money. Brands and more brands. The immediate external areas are well lit up but I thought the car park could have better illuminance. There's ample interest for children in the areas outside of the shopping centre and plenty of eating areas and vendors selling yummy things. If you are into buying branded products at not-so-cheap prices then this is the place for you. And with York Centre, just a 5-minute bus ride away you get the best of worlds. kudos to the bus drivers who drove us through heavy traffic skillfully and professionally despite the madness of pre-Xmas shoppers and poor visibility. If you have time visit York Xmas Market. I'm not great with crowds but I had a fabulous time ☺️. I was amazed at how many stalls were open selling jewellery clothes confectionery mulled wines mixed with spirits and so much more. The atmosphere was effervescent and I couldn't help but notice how many families had come out. Families with Young children, babies and dogs so many people brought their dogs 🐕 out. And to my surprise, the dogs appeared to be having fun weaving in and out of the crowds. I had a splendid time.

Came to this beautiful designer outlet on a Sunday. Car parking here is very convenient. Spacious spaces and lots of room and parking available. Given it is a closed space unlike the Cheshire oaks designer outlet, it is very good for rainy days, wet and cold weathers. Inside is very clean. I stayed for 45 minutes in there and I saw numerous cleaners going around constantly trying to keep the place clean. Also, the toilets were super clean. I have always judges a place by their restrooms. This place is on top of the game when it comes to hygiene from what i have Seen. Going around and finding your way can be a little challenging given I didn’t see enough information and navigation boards to ease with directions. It is very calm. And looks like you can find what you are looking for. We came specifically for The Works. As i have also uploaded pictures of. Overall, it is an amazing place. And i would definitely come back to it whenever i come back to York. Note: I will update this review with my next visit

I’ve been meaning to go to the Designer Outlet for ages. It was long before the Pandemic when I last visited. Today I travelled to York on the X46 and then caught the number7 bus from the Railway Station. The Outlet is really well set out with a good range of shops, far more than you will see on most High Streets nowadays. It is spacious, well lit and well ventilated with ample toilet facilities. I took my time to explore, stopping off for a very nice oat milk latte in Pret A Manger. For a Saturday I thought the Outlet seemed quite quiet; there were lots of people milling around but I passed a number of shops which had staff but no customers. The car parking was also quite empty even though there is a Park and Ride there. On the plus side this did mean that it was easy to get help and there were no queues at the tills. If you are visiting, be prepared to spend a lot, because there are a lot of bargains to be had. Favourite shops today: Joe Browns and Yumi. I have now discovered the Lindt shop -yay!

After posting a review of Mcarthur Glen, East Midlands. And after visiting the York outlet, i thought i would review this one and compare the two. The first thing that hits you when you get there is the sheer size of it compared to Derby. You have a choice of four entrances North, South, East, West. each having a car park (to me, I dont think there is enough disabled parking considering the size of the place). Wheni got in it reminded me of a mini medowhall, but smaller. I found the whole place a little clostrophobic. One good thing is its all under one roof, you havent got to worry about the weather. Plenty of shops to look in. Some nice places to get a bite to eat and a good cup of coffee we went to a place called "200° Coffee" it was most enjoyable. Comparing the to I prefer the Derby site, yes it's smaller but being open I feel more comfortable.
