Family of 4 visited 6:30pm Saturday night: Absolute rip off. Skating was near £15 each, which ok that's alright. However, if you want a skate aid, it's an extra £5 per child and £2 to put bags in a locker. But the fair was a joke. £4 a ride! 😲 They taking the michael!? What the actual F and there was only 2 rides that a 12 year old would go on as two were for babies and other two were waltzers and a haunted house that I bet has never seen a customer. There was a strong smell of weed hanging in the atmosphere too. Only went on one ride and did nothing else. Couldn't justify spending £10 for 2 kids to go on bumper cars. Poor kids were bored then hanging about waiting for our time on the rink 🥱 Also, don't go late on because all of the little huts/stalls aren't open. It's not really a winter wonderland. Although you do come out wondering... why you just spent nearly £100 on naff all. Suggestions to the organisers would be to lower your funfair ride prices, and then you might get customers and not have to operate your rides half full. Have some christmassy characters hanging about 🎅⛄️ to welcome people in and add a bit of cheer to the place. Have your market stalls open till late, and then all customers get the same experience no matter what time of day they arrive.
Bring back the old days when you'd stuff your face with hotdogs and onions, candy floss and sweets and the fair rides were 50p so you could go on loads of times till you were sick 🤢 and then go win a goldfish in a plaggy bag on...
Read moreWhile the concept of ice skating is enjoyable, my experience at this rink was somewhat hindered by the overcrowded conditions. The density of skaters on the rink made it challenging to have the freedom to move around comfortably. Unfortunately, my concerns heightened when I witnessed the potential for pile-ups as people inevitably fell or lost balance.
A notable aspect contributing to the congestion was the lack of adherence to proper skating etiquette, especially among younger participants. It was evident that some kids were not following the directional flow, making it difficult for others to navigate smoothly. Moreover, there were instances where children seemed oblivious to their surroundings, attempting to skate at high speeds without adequate social awareness.
In essence, while the idea of ice skating remains appealing, the overcrowded nature of the rink and the lack of adherence to skating etiquette, particularly among younger skaters, detracted from the overall experience. Improvements in crowd management and perhaps additional guidance for skaters, especially children, would greatly enhance the enjoyment of...
Read moreAll this describes the ice skating experience not the funfair. When paying they tried to short change us my husband had to correct them. I advised that my daughter is skate UK level 5 and I'm not good at ice skating. Nothing was said about her staying by my side. We went for boot hire for myself (we had my daughter's boots with us) and I again advised that my daughter can skate and I can't. Again nothing was mentioned that she had to stay by my side. We had been skating for a while with her doing loops and coming back to me, when the Marshall came over to advise that she needs to be by my side. I feel the signage wasn't clear enough. I was accompanying her on the ice and could see her and didn't feel it fair that she had to stick by me instead of skating properly. When asked of we had had a good time I advised not and explained. The manager was called (I didn't ask to see her) and she apologised, said they would make the signage clearer and offered us...
