There is a time in the our life when you just need a bit of peace. The church does many community activeties. On a Tuesday the do a tea and Chat for anyone. This helps the lonely and the unemployed, homeless to get two hours of drinking hot tea and coffee with a biscuit. The importance of feeling no reason normal when you have lost your world from loosing your job, home, life that you created. It is priceless.
There is a mum and baby group. That I know nothing about apart from I walked into it twice now.
The house of God is like every other home. Welcoming, friendly and peaceful. The stain glass windows are beautiful. The garden is full of serenity.
The tomb stones are lined up against the wall so the church hall could be built. That is also used by the community too. Gravesend Friday Fleamarket (8am-12:30pm) Is there too. The local community needs a place to go. There you can get antiques, trinket boxes ,handmade ornaments, DVDs blu-rays, collectible postage stamps, collectible toys, handmade cards, world war II memorabilia, costume jewellery and much much more!
I'm not part of the church so I cannot tell you everything...

John Rolfe's Native American wife, Rebecca (Pocahontas) was buried under the chancel of this church after her death on 21 March 1617. William Ordway Partridge's bronze statue commemorates her.
The 15th-century edifice burned down on 24 August, 1727 when a great fire consumed much of Gravesend, also destroying about 110 houses as well as the parish church. Services were transferred to the Town Hall until a new church building (constructed in the Georgian style being part-funded by the Commission for Building Fifty New Churches) was...
Read moreThe Church of St. George is a lovely grade two listed building. It was built in 1731 by Charles Sloane in the classical manner. Outside the church is a statue of Pocahontas. The grounds are verdant with a lawn and trees and shrubs scattered around. The grounds are treated like a small park. When the church is open there is a very friendly welcome. It is an Anglican church. I went there recently and the welcome was lovely and warm. I can't overstate how welcoming the people are in this church. The pastoral care is said to be very good. When I walked in the Rector came up smiling and shook my hand I was made truly at ease. Terrific place. The service is a mixture of hymns accompanied with a pipe organ and choruses accompanied with a baby grand piano. The words for the service are projected on a screen which made...
