We travelled 23 miles to come here to watch Oppenheimer on imax screen. An ‘Ok’ cinema. Slightly disappointed no gallery/premier seat option available, however the screen room itself was fine.
Upon arrival, the first ticket collection screen I visited wasn’t working, I moved onto another one and it only printed 1 of the 2 tickets out so was advised to go to concessions for them to print the other out.
It was very busy, there were big queues for concessions but this was ok because we wanted popcorn, drinks and brownies anyway (sadly they said no warm sauce available for the brownies though). Anyway, Once I was being served, a male staff member really shouted loud at one of the staff members called Skye, he shouted so loud at her “serve Skye just serve cant you see the queues just SERVE!!” Then he threw down what he was doing and stormed into the back room. He was so loud that the whole room fell silent. The young lad serving me began to shake, I asked if that was his manager and he said yes. I felt this was totally inappropriate, unprofessional and unacceptable to shout so loudly at his staff member… fair play to whoever Skye was she just smiled and asked “who’s next please?”.. but her manager was out of order and should have pulled her to one side quietly if he wanted to address an issue, not announce it to the whole of Telford. I think his management style needs addressing asap Cineworld!
Then we made our way over to the lady at the screen entrances, we were dead on 7pm for our film but noticed a lot of people hanging around, she just said your screen isn’t ready yet can you wait please. Never experienced this before!? But okay, understandable, maybe the customers in the screen before had left a huge mess? Within 5 minutes another lady approached the stand and said the screen was ready and for anyone who had already had their tickets scanned could just go ahead straight through. (Original lady never offered to scan our tickets so we just headed right through anyway as couldn’t bear to wait in another long queue with our hands all full)
Once in the screen it was fine, no issues at all. However, the male toilets were out of use so husband had to go back downstairs to toilet which was a bit annoying. Also the downward escalator was out of use, to add to that annoyance..
Overall, it was OK but will stick to our local cinema in Dudley...
Read moreBooked 4d max cinema without realising what it was, Jesus Christ, can't tell if the cinema was empty becuase Uncharted was rubbish or the 4d max experience leaves you with severe spinal injuries, don't even try holding your popcorn, I can see this being a cool and fun idea, but the chairs will violently shake even when the actors talk loudly, if you want to not relax for 2 and half hours go to 4d max. My ears were also in aggonny, I think becuase of all the motors powering the chairs making so much noise they've had to turn the volume up way to much and at some points it's actually unlistenable and painful. To make things worse my girlfriend and I were also fighting over the activate water button, which sprays you with water, glad you can turn the water off, maybe ad a button to turn the seat off, or maybe even an emergency eject button straight out the cinema. During the film a man comes in with infrared radiation binoculars and scans everyone for some reason, not creepy at all or even subtle very unsettling. Won't be going to 4d max again, cost £30 for two tickets, I can...
Read moreAs a keen cinema-goer I frequented the other Cinema in Telford often. It took me quite some time to decide to use Cineworld. A movie that I had to watch in IMAX forced my hand to use Cineworld. I haven't been back to the other since.
The facilities are clean and well kept. The screen rooms are well cleaned. Seats are comfortable and all signage is clear. The staff are very helpful, although not always concentrating. The management are spot on and very quick to fix issues.
There are some odd sized screens, some quite small for a cinema screen but has fewer seats to counter the screen size.
I have since become an Unlimited member and visit there at least once a week.
In regards to parking, there are two major car parks. A standard long-stay and a multi-story long-stay. Both are situated next to the Cinema and require payment. After 6pm that drops to 50p for any length of time and after 10pm the barriers are lifted, so payment is no longer required. If paying for parking bothers you, visit the Cinema for the...
