Whitby is a beautiful small fishing seaport and these pier are beautiful to look at from all angles. We were there on a calm and warm day with a flat calm sea. It is easy to imagine though the waves crashing around these stone structures in a wild storm, and evidence of wear and tear on the stone, steel and woodwork. We sat at the start of the pier, sheltered from the chilled sea breeze have a lovely fish and chips. The piers are fully paved and accessibility would not be a problem for anyone however people with young children need to be extremely vigalant as the fencing is not childproof and the sea is...
