Recommend 👍 Hull fair is a great place to spend time with family and friends on all the rides, attractions, and food. I would recommend going when it is dark as that is when you will get the best atmosphere. There are a few things you need to consider about: -Parking: parking can be quite tricky, especially when loads of people will also be looking for parking around that time. I would recommend parking along Harthill Drive which has free but limited parking and walking from there. -Pricing: most things at Hull fair or most fairs for that matter are pricy for what they are offering so if you want to go on many things then you may need to spend a lot of money. -Food: food isn't the best quality for the most part, you just have to look out for some hidden good places like bob carvers amongst the others. -Busy: Hull fair is VERY busy. Expect the following: navigating through crowds, being aware of potential pick-pockets, waiting long times for rides and sometimes food places. -Emergancy services: if you need help you should find the occassional police officers or event staff amongst the crowd mainly on the street and fair entrances. There are also medical stations to the sides. Summary: It can be a great annual experience so long as you are also sensible with your choices and slightly pre-plan important things...
Read moreParking: Organisation for parking was horrendous. Spent 2 hours driving 5 miles in bumper to bumper traffic with signs basically routing you around in one way streets of terraced houses with no parking at the end. Found a guy that brought me to a dodgy parking lot at the end of my 2 hour ordeal and close the gate after me. Parking guy was cool but the experience was not. The fair itself: I have not seen so many people in one place for a very very long time. Felt like a sardine in a can. Food was the type of "I sell whatever I got and make my profit for they year". Nothing nice tbh. With crowds so dense must be horrendous for the people living there. Words of warning: If you really want to go, don't go the first few days of the fair being open. Social impact: In current format this event is lose-lose for everyone but the traders selling substandard "food". Final verdict: I would avoid going there...
