Hey Yo!.
An absolutely stunning station it is grade 2 listed, won a heritage award in 2021, and you can see why.
It has an antique shop, a picture framing shop, a tea room, and a real ale pub.
The station itself has been restored to its original glory, and it's almost like stepping back in time to the Victorian ages.
It boasts many of its original features, all in excellent condition, multiple flower beds and several insect hotels.
The staff at hand are all very friendly you should definitely make time to stop in the tea room and peruse the antique shop.
I saw several volunteers at work and were all very enthusiastic and friendly, if you chat to them they will tell you a fountain of information.
Don't forget to look at the mural of the hidden tunnel found there.
Also Knaresborough station featured on day 81 of Geoff Marshall's 'All the stations' tour on the you tube.
If all that doesn't entice you there's a pub arms length away and Knaresborough itself is a lovely town.
Have a great day there I think you will!

Read moreKnaresborough is a lovely place to visit; it’s just a short ride on the train from York and the beautifully presented station gives a great first impression. There’s lots to see in Knaresborough but make sure that you have sensible shoes because the town is at the top, the station is half way down and the river is at the bottom of a very steep hill. Stay at the top for the Castle, Market Place and High Street but you’ll need to go down for the best views of the river and the viaduct. Although I didn’t visit today the Bebra Gardens are really lovely and offer great views. If you enjoy a good walk head out to the Watermill Cafe which can be reached by the exclusive Abbey Road on a flattish route or out from the High Street going downhill. Lots of places to eat and drink together with a few icecream vans. A...
Read moreA fantastic town with bags of personality! The market square and surrounding side streets is bustling with cafes, pubs and coffee shops, alongside quirky independent shops, whilst the nearby Castle offers on of Yorkshire's finest views, looking over the river to Mother Shipton, and the iconic viaduct.
A yearly festival called FEVA brings entertainment to the town, but there is always something on, from the town crier to the local theatre which has everything from am dram to national touring bands and comedies. For more mainstream shopping options Harrogate is just two stops away on the train, whilst Knaresborough's location means it gets plenty of tourist visitors but is never too full - apart from on the legendary "Bed Race" day which is something to see...
