Absolutely Disgraceful Experience – Avoid This Place
If I could give zero stars, I would. Our visit to the Wetherspoons in Knaresborough was nothing short of appalling. We had just placed an order for food and were sitting outside in the beer garden with our dogs when we were abruptly and rudely told to remove them. There were no visible signs stating that dogs weren’t allowed in the beer garden only an assiastance dogs only inside sign on the other side of the building, and the way it was handled was completely unacceptable.
Rather than simply and politely explaining the rules, the staff were blunt, rude, and clearly lacked even the most basic people skills, not only this but they also never even asked if they were assistance dogs. We were more than happy to leave with the dogs and asked for a refund, since my mum was now forced to eat her food on the side of the road – not exactly the experience we were hoping for. We were told flat out no refund, no cancellation, even though our food had literally just been ordered.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, we later found a long black hair underneath one of the wraps. We are all blonde – so that was the final straw. When we raised the issue and tried to calmly express our frustration, the staff scoffed and laughed in my face, showing absolutely no professionalism or respect. In fact, another customer even called them out on their disgraceful behaviour – which says a lot.
This was by far the worst service I’ve ever experienced at a Wetherspoons. Rude staff, no courtesy, no flexibility, poor hygiene, and a complete lack of decency. Do yourself a favour and spend your money literally...
Read moreWent in for a late lunch. The place was not busy, so we thought that the service would be quick. I ordered two meals and a side of onion rings from a female member of staff who was telling a customer that it had been busy. I didn't gets receipt and queried whether I should so I could prove what I had ordered. She said that there was no need as ' we just bring over what you ordered'. The meals were delivered promptly by her but we had to go back to the bar halfway through eating and ask a different member of staff where the side order was. This guy came to our table and asked what was missing from our order and my wife told him, even though he had been told a couple of minutes previously. He went to the dumb waiter which had actually sounded that it had delivered the sides 10 minutes earlier so my wife remonstrated that the onion rings would be cold and we were already halfway through our meal. He turned on his heel and said " I will get it sorted for you!" He then went off and about 5 minutes later a great polite young guy came back and not only delivered the red hot onion rings but apologised profusely for the mix up. His attitude was a credit to the establishment, unlike his colleagues that we saw that day! Definitely will not be returning to the Crown Inn...
Read moreI visited Knaresborough Wetherspoons this sunday for a bite to eat with the family reluctantly as im not a fan of spoons food however i gave it another whirl. I wish i didnt bother. The food was foul!! I ordered a lamb shank dinner with roasted root veg, mash and gravy. What arrived at my table resembled a cow pat!! The shank was hot, burnt and dry( results of microwaving) on the outside and stone cold in the middle. I received three slices of carrot and two 1cmx1cm pieces of swede which were meant to be parsnip, which were also microwaved. They were nuked on the outside and raw in the centre. The mash or should we say smash had not even been mixed properly so i had a few spoons of raw unmixed smash. It also had the consistancy of concrete and tasted pretty similar. The gravy was not bad, it was an edible gravy however it was not what was meant to be on the dish. What was meant to arrive was red currant and rosemary gravy. What arrived was a plain beef gravy, not even lamb based gravy. The service was poor too. I would say im disapointed in wetherspoons but im more..... not surprised. Will deffo put my foot down and not eat at any...
